Miami-Cuba is an audiovisual immersion through the Historic Center of João Pessoa, with brief trips to symbolic places along its shore. In particular, the recently verticalized Altiplano district, where his current urban development project seems to be heading. Its cinematographic device is the occupation of an apartment in the 18th floor building, the first skyscraper and initial landmark of modernization in the capital. Work that also configures a type of sentinel in this central region of the city, listed as a historical heritage shortly after its construction. Curral is a political drama set in the rural Brazilian city of Gravatá. During the mayoral elections, the population is divided between the Blue and Red parties, two political oligarchies fighting each other for power. A recent severe drought means water is the main bargaining chip when it comes to securing a majority of people's votes. Chico Caixa is a former city employee. He lost his job trying to take water supplies to a poor neighborhood which had been abandoned for political reasons. Caixa is invited by a childhood partner, Joel, to work on his councilor campaign. Joel presents himself as a new alternative to the older candidates, who have been in power for decades. But as the campaign progresses, Chico Caixa soon realizes that breaking apart from the established political game is not always as easy as it may seem

The construction of a community goes far beyond its erected walls and masonry bricks: it lies in the everyday invention of the commonplace, of life shared in its struggles and victories. Stemming from this premise, this debut feature film (by the directors of Na Missão com Kadu) documents the daily life of the urban occupation Eliana Silva, in the city of Belo Horizonte, on the eve of the 2018 elections. Seen from the inside, the hard-won territory becomes a protagonist as much as its residents, as they talk about political activism, companionship, love. Along with the records and personal testimonies is the (re)invention of subjectivity through art, going up against the totalizing narratives that reduce their existence to a newspaper news story.

In the end, one is dead and the others are alone, although the truth is that they were already alone long before his death. Now all of this is gone and there is no point in looking back.
