The film was conceived as a story about the history of the Gogol Center Theater and the case of Kirill Serebrennikov. But the circumstances were different. This is a film about a film that could not be made.

About life and artistic path of the Ural poet Alexey Reshetov (1937-2002), a man of unique destiny and unique talent. For most of his adult life, he worked as an electrician at one of the potash mines in the city of Berezniki. There he began to write poetry and gradually publish, first in local newspapers, then in Perm and Yekaterinburg. He never lived to fame in the capitals and great regalia but managed to have a strong influence on the spiritual formation of several generations of his readers.

For several decades, the Central Park of Culture and Recreation named after Gorky (or abbreviated CPKiO) was for the Soviet people a kind of "factory of happiness", a model of a "bright future", or "paradise on earth". Time passed. Different political winds blew in the country, slogans and portraits of leaders changed at mass celebrations, sculptures on alleys changed ... Gradually it turned from a "factory of happiness" into a banal "place of leisure", and by the beginning of the XXI century it finally became dilapidated. All available cultural resources and, above all, the resources of cinema, which was not accidentally awarded the title of "the most important of the arts", were thrown into the creation of this mythology...

In 1992, during the Georgian-Abkhaz conflict, the famous Sukhumi Monkey Nursery found itself in the epicenter of military events. The fighting took place not only on the neighboring streets of Sukhumi, but also directly on the territory of the nursery. Some of the monkeys were transported by the staff to Russia to the institute's branch in Adler. Unfortunately, it was not possible to save all the primates. Hundreds of monkeys died, unable to endure cold, hunger, stress... The story of the monkey nursery from Sukhumi is not only another drama of the collision of the human world and the natural world. This is a fairly accurate reflection of what is happening to the human community itself in the so-called "hot spots".

The impressive building of the Moscow Hotel, erected in the heart of the city back in 1935, has been one of the most familiar architectural and historical symbols of our capital for 70 years. For the first hotel built under Soviet rule, this symbolic place was chosen - a stone's throw from the Kremlin. Its walls were mute witnesses to all the most important events of Russian history – military bombing and Victory Day parade, Stalin's funeral and the first Moscow Film Festival, fireworks and political rallies of the early 90s. And recently, because of the emergency condition, they decided to demolish the hotel, and build a new one in its place, looking exactly the same ... but only with an ultramodern five-star filling.

Admittedly, it is not so often possible to see the birth, flowering and extinction of some creative direction in art during the life of one generation. Perhaps one of the rare examples of this kind gives us a creative direction that has gone down in history under the name "social art", which is regarded in the West as the most significant contribution of Soviet fine art to the world artistic process of the second half of the twentieth century. In our film, the fate of this creative direction is reflected by its brightest representatives – Vitaly Komar, Alexander Kosolapov, Leonid Sokov, Boris Orlov, Rostislav Lebedev and Mikhail Roshal. Their collective story about the fate of "social art" unfolds against the background of the chronicle of the political and artistic life of the 70-90s.

The whole world is confident that bears walk the streets in Russia, and the entire population from young to old is drinking vodka from morning to evening. In fairness, we note that Russian people themselves recognize the reputation of inveterate drunkards and are proud of it somewhere. Russian Russian documentarian Alexey Khanyutin made an attempt to analyze the role of vodka in the life of a Russian person.

The village of Ilyino, located in the south-western "corner" of the Tver province, at first glance does not differ from other villages of the Russian Non-Chernozem region. Meanwhile, this village is unusual, with its own special, very dramatic fate. More than 150 years ago it was founded by Jews, followers of the Hasidic creed. In the early forties, about three thousand Jews lived here. In the autumn of the 41st, German troops entered the village. Jewish families who did not have time to evacuate turned out to be prisoners of a ghetto organized by the fascists right here in the village. Those who survived this terrible time left after the war, many died. And by the beginning of the 21st century, only one of the survivors of the ghetto remained in Ilyin – Alexander Yakovlevich Karpenko. Last…

Everyone calls our hero Uncle Yasha (well, if officially, then Yakov Markovich Levitin). And he is certainly a historical person. People enter history in different ways - he entered with a movie spotlight. Yakov Markovich has been working as an illuminator at the Russian Central Documentary Film Studio for almost 57 (!) years. Over the years, he traveled around the country, saw many famous and important people (including all the political leaders of the country - from Stalin to Yeltsin). And he also "illuminated" the era. It was thanks to the light of the searchlights installed by him that it was possible to capture on film almost all the main political events of the second half of the twentieth century.

Boris Karadzhev's documentary "Portraits of the Epoch. Maya Plisetskaya" was released in 2002. It is dedicated to one of the most famous ballerinas of the twentieth century.

The film is about a famous director and cameraman who was born in Perm and graduated from the Faculty of Philology of Perm University. He studied with A. Korolev, L. Yuzefovich, N. Gorlanova, who later became major writers. The author of the film also belonged to this party, where his name was Bob.
