It has been several years since a 16-year-old teenager posted a photo of his girlfriend in the general chat, hoping to boast to friends. Now he has a happy adult life: work, friends, fiance Katya, who is about to become his wife. But the Internet makes you remember teenage love, after which a chain of inexplicable mystical events occurs with the future wife of a young man. The girl receives mysterious messages from her fiance's past. Because of them, her life turns into a nightmare.

Female protagonist’s brother dies under mysterious circumstances. Extremely vivid nightmares begin to haunt her and she decides to turn to the Institute of somnology for help. Along with other patients, they are induced into a «collective lucid dream». But at the dawn, they will awake to a completely different reality that is more horrifying than any nightmare.

1,800년대 중반 러시아에서는 망자의 영혼을 지키기 위해, 죽은 사람의 눈에 그림을 그리고 사진으로 남기는 기이한 풍습이 일어난다. 한편, 한 사진사는 여자 노예를 이용해 결혼식 전 세상을 떠난 신부를 살려내려고 하지만 신부의 의식이 돌아오지 않자, 그녀의 원화를 집안에 숨겨 망자와의 재회를 꿈꾼다. 한편, 바냐와 혼인 서약을 마친 나스티아는 바냐의 친척을 만나기 위해 고향을 찾지만, 그곳에서 환영과 환각을 경험하며 불길한 기운을 감지하는데…
