이집트의 고센 지방에 자리 잡고 수백년을 살아 온 이스라엘 민족(히브리인)이 나날이 번성해 가자, 이집트의 왕 파라오가 그에 위협을 느끼고 히브리인의 장자를 모두 죽이라고 명한다. 요케벨(마샤 스콧 분)이라는 히브리 여인은 파라오의 명령으로부터 아들을 보호하기 위해 아들을 바구니에 넣어 나일강에 띄워 보낸다. 때마침 강가에서 노닐고 있던 파라오의 딸 비티아(니나 포치 분)가 아기를 발견하고, 모세란 이름을 지어준 다음 자신의 아들로 삼아 키운다. 세월이 흘러 비티아의 오빠 세티(세드릭 하드위케 분)가 왕이 된다. 씩씩한 청년으로 자란 모세(찰톤 헤스톤 분)는 용감하고 품위있는 성품으로 세티의 사랑을 받고, 공주인 네프레티리(앤 백스터 분)의 연인이 된다. 세티의 아들 람세스(율 브린너 분)는 아버지 세티로부터 왕위를 계승받기 위해 안간힘을 쓰며, 모세를 견제하고 모함한다. 어느날 모세는 자신이 이집트 왕족이 아니라 히브리 노예의 아들이라는 사실을 알게 된다. 그는 왕자로서의 부귀영화와 공주 네페르타리의 사랑을 뒤로 한 채 동족의 곁으로 돌아와 이집트인의 노예로서 처참한 생활을 하고 있는 동족의 고통을 함께 나눈다. 400년 간 노예 생활을 해온 히브리인들은 언젠가 하느님이 인도자를 보내 주시어 그들을 이집트에서 구해 내시고 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 땅으로 인도하리라는 기다림 속에서 살아가고 있었다. 그러던 중 모세가 노예의 아들이라는 사실이 람세스에게 알려지고 모세는 광야로 추방된다. 광야를 헤매던 모세는 미디안에 이르고, 그곳에서 세포라(이본느 드 칼로 분)라는 양치기 여인과 혼인해 아들을 낳고 평화롭게 살아가던 중 시나이 산에서 하느님의 부름을 받고, 이집트로 돌아가 동포를 구해 내라는 명령을 받게 되는데..

사진 작가인 제프리스는 촬영 도중 다리가 부러져 휠체어에서 꼼짝할 수 없는 처지이다. 무료함을 견디지 못하는 그는 자신의 그리니치 빌리지에 있는 독신자 아파트에서 뜰 건너편에 사는 사람들의 행동을 관찰하는 것으로 시간을 보낸다. 어느날 건너편 아파트에 사는 한 사람이 아내를 살해한 것으로 의심받을 만한 짓을 한 것을 본 그는 이를 모델인 애인 리사와 친구인 형사 도일에게 말하지만 아무도 그의 말을 믿지 않는다. 그러나 결국 그의 의심이 전혀 근거없는 것은 아니라는 것을 알게 된 리사와 간호부 스텔라는 그의 지시에 따라 범행의 증거를 찾아 부부의 집을 조사하기 시작하는데...

보험사 직원인 월터는 고객 관리를 위해 디트리히슨의 집을 방문한다. 디트리히슨의 아내 필리스를 만나게 된 월터는 그녀의 매력에 곧 빠져들고, 남편을 살해할 음모를 품고 있는 필리스의 유혹에 쉽게 넘어간다. 결국 월터와 필리스는 사고를 가장해 남편을 살해하는데, 머지 않아 그녀의 어두운 과거가 드러난다.

No relation to the 1950 Frank Capra film of the same name, the 1943 Technicolor musical Riding High is a by-the-numbers vehicle for Dorothy Lamour and Dick Powell. Lamour stars as Ann Castle, a former burlesque queen who heads westward to claim her father's silver mine. Powell plays mining engineer Steve Baird, who like Ann has a vested interest in the worked-out mine. With the help of genial counterfeiter Mortimer J. Slocum (Victor Moore), Steve and Ann are able to peddle mining stock, thus saving her from bankruptcy. The stockholders are in a lynching mood when it appears that they've been flim-flammed, but a last minute "miracle" saves the day. Featured in the cast are Paramount stalwarts Cass Daley and Gil Lamb, the former doing her quasi-Martha Raye act and the latter swallowing his harmonica for the millionth time. Production values are excellent and the songs are exuberantly performed; it's only in its hackneyed plot that Riding High slows to a clip-clop.

제프(빙 크로스비 분)와 터키(밥 호프 분)가 밀항을 한 상선이 항해를 하던 중 사고로 침몰하면서 두 사람의 모험이 시작된다. 극적으로 생존한 두 사람은 아프리카 해안에 도착하고, 어렵게 사막을 건너 모로코로 가게 된다. 빈털터리였지만 굶주림에 지친 두 사람은 무작정 식당에 들어가 배불리 음식을 먹는데, 그때 나타난 노예상인이 제프에게 돈을 지불하고 터키를 노예로 산다. 터키가 팔려간 후, 양심의 가책을 받고 괴로워하던 제프는 결국 터키를 찾아 나선다. 그리고 웅장한 궁전에 잠입한 제프는 노예로 팔려간 줄 알았던 터키가 모로코 공주(도로시 라무르 분)와 멋진 시간을 보내고 있는 모습을 보고 깜짝 놀란다. 사실 공주는 세력가인 카심(안소니 퀸 분)과 결혼하기로 되어 있었지만, 첫 남편이 비명횡사하게 된다는 점성술사의 예언을 들은 공주가 터키를 희생양으로 선택한 것이었다. 한편, 공주는 터키를 찾아온 제프에게 반하게 되고, 마침 점성술사로부터 예언이 틀렸다는 말을 전해 듣자마자 제프와 결혼식을 올리게 된다. 하지만 소식을 전해들은 카심이 부하들을 이끌고 쳐들어와 공주와 하녀를 납치해 가고, 제프와 터키는 사막에 버려진다. 하지만 두 사람은 사막을 헤매다 카심의 본거지를 찾아내고, 우여곡절 끝에 공주와 하녀를 구출해낸다. 그리고 두 쌍의 남녀는 함께 미국으로 떠난다.

Two men searching for black pearls are marooned on an island when their crew mutinies. There they run into a beautiful girl who had been washed up on the island in her childhood. They must fight angry natives and a typhoon in order to survive.

In his last film assignment, portly Walter Connolly fills the title role (in more ways than one) in The Great Victor Herbert. Very little of Herbert's life story is incorporated in the screenplay (a closing title actually apologizes for the film's paucity of cold hard facts); instead, the writers allow the famed composer's works to speak for themselves. In the tradition of one of his own operettas, Herbert spends most of his time patching up the shaky marriage between tenor John Ramsey (Allan Jones) and Louise Hall (Mary Martin). Many of Herbert's most famous compositions are well in evidence, including "Ah! Sweet Mystery of Life", "March of the Toys" and "Kiss Me Again", the latter performed con brio by teenaged coloratura Susanna Foster. Evidently, the producers were able to secure the film rights for the Herbert songs, but not for the stage productions in which they appeared, which may explain such bizarre interpolations as having a song from Naughty Marietta.

One of the last bills signed by President Lincoln authorizes pushing the Union Pacific Railroad across the wilderness to California. But financial opportunist Asa Barrows hopes to profit from obstructing it. Chief troubleshooter Jeff Butler has his hands full fighting Barrows' agent, gambler Sid Campeau; Campeau's partner Dick Allen is Jeff's war buddy and rival suitor for engineer's daughter Molly Monahan. Who will survive the effort to push the railroad through at any cost?

King Louis XI masquerades as a commoner in Paris, seeking out the treachery he is sure lurks in his kingdom. In the 1840s, Ramsey MacKay, the driver for the struggling Wells Fargo mail and freight company, will secure an important contract if he delivers fresh oysters to Buffalo from New York City. When he rescues Justine Pryor and her mother, who are stranded in a broken wagon on his route, he doesn't let them slow him down and gives the ladies an exhilirating ride into Buffalo. He arrives in time to obtain the contract and is then sent by company president Henry Wells to St. Louis to establish a branch office.
