From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. David Aaron Proval (born May 20, 1942) is an American actor, known for his roles as Richie Aprile on the HBO television series The Sopranos and as Tony DeVienazo in the 1973 Martin Scorsese film Mean Streets opposite Robert De Niro and Harvey Keitel.
Proval was born in Brooklyn, New York of Jewish heritage, the son of actress Clara Katz of Romanian origin. He has appeared in such feature films as The Shawshank Redemption, Mob Queen, Four Rooms, UHF, Innocent Blood, The Siege, a cameo appearance in Smokin' Aces, and has had recurring roles in television shows such as Picket Fences, Boomtown and Everybody Loves Raymond. In 1977 his voice was heard in the cult animated film WIZARDS, as the robot assassin Necron 99.
In 2008, David Proval starred in the comedy City of Shoulders and Noses. The film is being produced by Sybil Danning, George Parra, and Tommy Ardolino.

로렌 돌픈(Roland Dalton: 피터 웰러스 분)은 변호사로 항상 강간 사건, 불법 기소자, 마약 사범 따위의 골치 아픈 문제들에 시달리는 돈없고 빽 없는 사람이다. 그는 돈 때문에 애인을 버리고 돈 많은 여자와 약혼한 사이인데, 얼마 안 있으면 지긋지긋한 변호사 직을 떠나 장인의 도움으로 증권 브로커로 전업할 계획을 가지고 있다. 또한 빌리(Billy: 앤드류 존스 분)는 청바지를 즐겨입는 일선 형사로 그 역시 정의로운 인간이나 격무에 시달린다. 그러던 어느날 마약 상인이 경찰관을 살해하는 사건이 벌어진다. 사실은 경찰관이 마약상인에게 뒷돈을 요구하다 일이 얽혀 상대를 쏘는 바람에 마약 상인은 정당방위로 총을 쏜 것이다. 그러나 사정은 마약상이 불리한 쪽으로 자꾸 기울고 이 사건을 맡은 변호사 로렌 돌픈은 경찰관쪽의 비리 심증을 굳히고 마약사범을 변호하느라 애를 쓴다.

이혼하고 독신으로 사는 마샬 시모어(Marshall: 저지 레인홀드 분)는 백화점의 수석 부사장으로 오직 성공에만 몰두하며 살아가는 바쁜 사람이다. 그에게는 전처와의 사이에서 낳은 아들 찰리(Charlie: 프레드 세비지 분)가 있고 직장 동료인 샘(Sam: 코린 보러 분)과는 애인 사이이다. 어느날 마샬은 물품구매를 위해 태국에 갔다가 구매물품속에 골동품 밀매업자 터크(Turk: 데이비드 프로벌 분)가 태국인에게서 사들여 미국으로 가져가려고 하는 황금 해골을 같이 갖고 오게 된다. 그후 찰리는 엄마가 여행을 가게 되어 일주일간 아빠 마샬의 집에 살게 되는데 그 황금해골은 라마승들에게 전해 내려오는 육신을 바꿀 수 있는 물건으로 마샬과 찰리는 서로 자기 삶이 힘들다고 푸념하다가 서로의 몸이 바뀌게 된다. 황당한 경우를 맞게 된 이들 부자는 마샬이 학교에 가고 찰리가 백화점으로 출근하면서 걷잡을 수 없는 소용돌이 속으로 빨려 들어가게 되는데....

미국 시골의 작은 마을. 악마의 존재에 강한 흥미를 갖고 있는 숀은 단짝 페트릭, 뚱보 호레이스 등 5명을 규합하여 매일 방과후면 마을뒤의 커다란 나무밑 본거지에 모여 악마 이야기에 꽃을 피우곤 한다. 이때 백년에 한번씩 몬스타가 모이는 날이 돌아오고 비행기에서 탈출한 드라큐라와 박물관에 진열되어 있던 미이라 늑대인간, 물고기 인간, 프랑켄슈타인 등이 되살아나 숀이 갖고 있는 주문의 책을 빼앗으려 한다. 이주문의 책은 악마를 퇴치하는 법이 들어있는 것으로, 악마들을 가두기위해서는 특별한 봉인석이 필요한데. 이 주문의 책을 사이에 두고 악마군단과 숀이 구상한 5인의 악마 특공대와의 맹렬한 전투가 벌어진다. 이때 전투 중 구사일생으로 커다란 구멍에 빠진 숀. 일행은 비밀의 방을 발견하게 되고 그곳에서 신비의 봉인석을 손에 쥔 숀 일행은 마침내 악마 군단과 인류의 생사를 놓고 최후의 결전을 벌인다.

장래가 촉망되는 젊은 판사 하딘(Steven Hardin: 마이클 더글러스 분)은 흉악범들이 법조문을 교묘하게 이용하여 법망을 빠져나가는 현실에 심한 분노와 좌절을 느낀다. 형사들이 범행 증거가 확연한 증거들을 수집하여 검거해도 그들은 곧 변호사에 의해 정당한 수색 혹은 검문인지를 주장하여 증거로 채택되지 않고 풀려나는 것이다. 그 사실을 안 덕망있는 선배 판사가 자신들의 그룹 '스타 챔버(The Star Chamber)'에 입회할 것을 권유한다. 저명한 판사 9명으로 구성된 이 비밀 조직은 지능적으로 법망을 피해 나가는 흉악범들을 살인청부업자를 시켜서 제거함으로써 사회를 정화시켜 나간다는 명분을 내세우고 있다. 번민하던 하딘은 그 그룹에 입회하게 되고, 자신도 2인조 아이 살해범을 지목하여 이들로부터 유죄를 받아낸다. 하지만 한 흑인 형사에 의해 흑인 진범 3인조가 검거되자, 하딘은 이들에게 자신이 지목한 2인조의 살해 집행을 중지할 것을 주장한다. 하지만 그들은 이것이 불가능하며, 더구나 범인들이 아이를 죽이지 않았더라도 결국 다른 시민들에게 해를 끼칠 것이라 차라리 죽이는 것이 바르다는 판단을 내린다.
분괴한 하딘은 이들도 모두 범인과 다름 없다고 판단하고, 결국 흑인 형사에게 모든 것을 폭로해 버리는데...
