2014년 우크라이나 동부 돈바스 지역. 군인들의 우발적 ‘실수’로 여객기가 추락하고, 정치적 견해가 상이한 남편과 남동생은 끊임없이 다투고, 한때는 친구였던 이웃 주민들과의 갈등이 증폭되지만, 꿋꿋하게 고향을 지키는 만삭의 임신부 이르카의 배는 점점 불러온다. 연이은 ‘실수’로 폭파되어 무너져버린 거실 벽너머로 보이는 광활한 풍경은 아름답지만 황량하고, 일촉즉발의 상황 속에서 이르카의 두려움과 혼란은 커져간다.

Injured and starving, Crow falls in the yard of the Church. He tries to get food in the Church, but believers kick the devil's bird out of God's house. The crow ends up on the shoulder of the scarecrow, but after the storm, the scarecrow is stripped from its clothes and believers discover the holy cross instead of it, and now the poor bird is kicked out from his new safe place as well...

여호와의 증인 교회에서 예배 중에 테러가 일어난다. 누군가 교회 안에 화염병을 던져 교회가 온통 불길에 휩싸인다. 테러의 배후를 파헤치려는 남편이 테러범들을 적발하려 하는 동안 아내는 상상하지 못한 공격을 받는다. 자신이 경찰이라고 밝히며 집안에 들어온 남자는 아내를 공포에 질리게 만들고 끔찍한 일들이 연이어 벌어진다. 아내는 남편에게 이런 사실을 알리지만 소용이 없다. 영화의 초반부에 하나님이 아브라함에게 아들을 제물로 바치라고 했다는 성경 이야기가 나온다. 도대체 신은 인간에게 왜 이런 끔찍한 죄를 짓게 만드는가? 영화는 여기에 대한 하나의 대답을 제공한다. 용서의 하나님이 아닌 복수의 하나님이 존재하는 것이 아닐까?

The house painter Misha lives with sense of guilt because of the death of the son. Police officers ruthlessly destroy Misha for the fact that allegedly he stores things stolen by his son. The meeting with Niko Pirosmani's drawing of "Train in Kakheti" for Misha becomes an opportunity that he will come back the past and to confess for the made mistakes concerning his son.

After the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, presidential and oppositional forces confronted each other on the main avenue of Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. Gia, a soldier of oppositional forces during the civil war, needs to get medicine for his sick son. While on a desperate search for the drugs, he accidentally encounters a school buddy, who's fighting on the opposite side.
