Lieutenant Orloff, a recently graduated Russian officier, is making his way across the snow-covered steppes to the garrison where he is to be stationed. He comes across a man who has lost his way in the blizzard and takes him to the safety of an inn. Arriving at the garrison, Orloff meets and falls immediately in love with Macha, the daughter of his commander. The town is suddenly attacked by a hoard of bandits who claims to be the true Tsar of Russia.

After a detective is assaulted by thugs and placed in an asylum run by Professor Baum, he observes the professor's preoccupation with another patient, the criminal genius Dr. Mabuse the hypnotist. When Mabuse's notes are found to be connected with a rash of recent crimes, Commissioner Lohmann must determine how Mabuse is communicating with the criminals, despite conflicting reports on the doctor's whereabouts, and capture him for good.

F.P.1 is a huge airplane landing dock in the Atlantic where pilots making the transatlantic flight can stop. Yet a saboteur tries to sink the technical wonder in this classic German science fiction film from 1932. The film was also created with English and French speaking actors at the same time.

어린이 연쇄 살인 사건 때문에 독일의 한 도시 전체가 공포의 도가니가 된다. 그러나 여덟번째 여자 어린이가 살해될 때까지도 경찰은 아무런 단서도 잡지 못한다. 이 때문에 경찰은 도시 전체를 이잡듯이 수색하게 되고, 시민들도 서로를 의심하는 등 생활의 리듬이 깨어지게 된다. 한편 범죄 조직에서도 경찰의 수사 때문에 자신들의 사업에 방해를 받자 머리를 짜내기 시작한다. 결국엔 살해범이 잡히지 않으면 자신들의 생계가 막막하다는 것을 깨닫고 자기들이 나서서 살해범을 잡기로 결정한다. 이들은 남의 눈에 띄지 않게 미행을 할 수 있는 거지 조직을 이용한다. 어느날 한 맹인 거지가 휘파람 소리를 듣고 그가 범인임을 눈치챈다. 거지는 곧 도움을 청해 다른 거지들에게 범인을 뒤쫑게 한다. 범인을 뒤쫑던 거지는 범인의 등에 살인자임을 나타내는 M이란 표시를 해놓는다. 그러나 범인은 이를 눈치채고 어느 건물안으로 들어가서 숨어버린다. 범죄 조직원들은 건물을 습격하고 결국엔 범인을 잡는다. 이들은 범인을, 마치 자신들이 법에 의해 심판을 받듯이, 심판하기로 결정한다. 범인은 자신의 살인이 충동적이며 자신도 어찌할 수 없는 것이라면서 호소한다. 그러나 범죄 조직원들은 이에 냉소적이며 사형을 내리려 한다. 그러나 범인의 변호사로 나선 사람은 자신들도 살인을 한 사람이 남을 처형할 수는 없는 것이라 결사 반대한다. 범죄 조직원 다수의 의견으로 범인의 사형이 집행될 찰나 경찰이 들이닥친다.

Hanns Heinz Ewers' grim science-fiction novel Alraune has already been filmed twice when this version was assembled in 1928. In another of his "mad doctor" roles, Paul Wegener plays Professor Brinken, sociopathic scientist who combines the genes of an executed murderer with those of a prostitute. The result is a beautiful young woman named Alraune (Brigitte Helm), who is incapable of feeling any real emotions -- least of all guilt or regret. Upon attaining adulthood, Alraune sets about to seduce and destroy every male who crosses her path. Ultimately, Professor Brinken is hoist on his own petard when he falls hopelessly in love with Alraune himself. Alraune was remade in 1930, with Brigitte Helm repeating her role, and again in 1951, with Hildegarde Knef as the "heroine" and Erich von Stroheim as her misguided mentor.

Anastasia's supposed escape and possible survival was one of the most popular historical mysteries of the 20th century, provoking many books and films. At least ten women claimed to be her, offering varying stories as to how she had survived. Anna Anderson, was maybe the best known Anastasia impostor.

Based on the play Henry IV by Luigi Pirandello. Conrad Veidt plays Count di Nolli, a nobleman who, after a head injury, imagines he is the medieval emperor. His friends and relatives choose to play along, dressing up as medieval courtiers, but is di Nolli truly mad, or just pretending? The art direction was by Hermann Warm. It was shot on location in Italy. 6 acts, 1856 meters.

〈버라이어티〉는 하층 계급 인물의 개인적인 심리를 주로 다루고 있는 ‘실내극영화’와 남자 주인공이 도시의 유혹에 빠져 가정으로부터 멀어지는 모습을 그린 ‘거리영화’의 특징을 모두 지니고 있다. 널리 알려진 무르나우의 〈마지막 웃음〉(1924)에 비해 덜 알려져 있지만, 삼각관계를 이루는 공중곡예사들의 멜로드라마라는 특이한 소재를 다루었으며, 20년대 독일영화에서 가장 뛰어난 기술적∙미학적 성취를 이룬 영화라고 할 수 있다. 칼 프로인트의 카메라는 인물의 사랑, 질투와 같은 심리를 파고들기 위해 자유로운 움직임과 다양한 앵글을 구사하고, 주관적인 시점과 결합된 움직임은 시.공간적 제약을 뛰어넘어 다양한 영화적 시각을 제공함으로써 현실적인 이야기에 스며든 내면을 시각화한다. 공중곡예 장면은 그 자체로 스펙터클을 경험하게 하는 역동적인 힘이 있으며, 뒤퐁의 섬세한 감정 연출과 정교한 편집도 뛰어난 경지를 보여준다. 이 영화의 성공으로 뒤퐁과 프로인트는 할리우드로 이주했고 이후 누아르 영화에 큰 영향을 미쳤다. It was not just the children who were treated badly by the wealthy Weimar republic. Robert Kramer is released from prison but struggles to adjust to civilian life. His father disowns him out, his wife has left him for another man. There is no work. He eventually arrives in a shelter for the homeless, and seeks salvation through Emma, a prostitute.

은발의 멋진 구렛나루 수염을 쓰다듬으며 금빛 단추의 제복을 뽐내는 한 호텔 도어맨이 있다. 그는 출퇴근을 할 때에도 항상 호텔 제복을 입고 다니며, 나이는 들었지만 자신이 아직도 상당히 매력적이고 힘도 센 괜찮은 남자라는 생각 한다. 그리고 도어맨으로서의 직업적 자긍심도 대단하다. 그러던 어느날 도어맨이 손님의 무거운 가방을 나르고 숨이 차 잠시 로비에서 쉬고 있는데, 이를 호텔 매니저가 목격한다. 이 일이 빌미가 되어 도어맨은 나이가 많다는 이유로 세면장에서 수건 수발을 드는 자리로 좌천당하게 된다. 그런데 그날이 하필이면 질녀의 결혼식 날이였다. 제복을 벗은 초라한 자신의 모습을 친척들에게 보여줄 수 없다고 생각한 도어맨은 제복을 몰래 훔쳐내 입고 결혼식에 참석한다. 결혼식을 마친 다음 날 이런 사실을 모르는 친척 아주머니가 도어맨에게 줄 도시락을 들고 호텔로 찾아가는데...

의 2부로 크림힐트가 훈족의 여왕이 되어 지그프리트의 복수를 하는 과정을 그리고 있다. 크림힐트는 지그프리트를 죽인 하겐과 브룬힐트 일족을 자기 성으로 끌어 들여 피 어린 복수전을 시작한다. 1922년부터 23년까지 9개월간 UFA의 바벨스부르크 스튜디오에서 제작된 이 영화는 당시 1,2부로 나누어 양일에 걸쳐 개봉되어 큰 성공을 거두었다. 이전작품과 다른 대작을 연출해야 했던 프리츠 랑 감독은 아내인 테아 폰 하르보와 촬영감독 칼 호프만, 예술감독 오토 훈테, 칼 폴브레히트와 독일 특유의 감성어린 웅장하고 비극적인 걸작을 만들었다. 상징주의와 독일 표현주의 양식이 드러난 이 영화는 에이젠슈타인의 에 영향을 끼쳤다고 한다.

네덜란드의 왕자 지그프리트는 군터 왕을 만나러 가던 중 거대한 용을 만난다. 용을 무찌른 지그프리트는 용의 피를 뒤집어 쓰고 불사신이 되고, 난쟁이의 도깨비 감투도 손에 넣는다. 이후 군터 왕을 만난 지그프리트는 그의 여동생 크림힐트와의 결혼을 요청하고, 군터는 자신이 아이슬랜드의 여왕 브룬힐트와 결혼할 수 있도록 도와주면 결혼을 허락하겠노라고 한다. 브룬힐트와 결혼하기 위해서는 그녀와의 대결에서 이겨야만 했는데, 군터는 지그프리트의 힘을 이용한 것이다. 대결에서 이긴 군터는 브룬힐트와 결혼하고 지그프리트와 크림힐트도 결혼하지만, 속임수로 자신을 이겼음을 알게 된 브룬힐트는 크게 분노하고 지그프리트를 죽일 음모를 꾸민다.
