약력

Harkaitz Cano (Basque Country, 1975) started to write and publish literature in his early twenties. He has published books of poetry, collections of short stories and novels. Cano has taken part in a number of performances combining literature with music and other arts. He usually works as a scriptwriter, and has translated into Basque works by Sylvia Plath, Anne Sexton, Hanif Kureishi and Allen Ginsberg. His books have been published into a dozen languages, including English, German and Russian.

Black Is Beltza II: Ainhoa

Screenplay

Ainhoa is born by chance in La Paz (Bolivia); but she grows up in Cuba and, at the age of 21, in 1988, she travels to the Basque Country (Spain) to discover the land of Manex, her father. In the midst of political struggle, she meets Josune, a committed journalist, and her group of friends.

Mugaldekoak

Screenplay

Mugaldekoak is set in the early 40s, when, on this side of the border, the wounds of the Civil War were still open and, on the other, they were living under occupation by the German Army. The tale revolves around the Comète Network, an initiative developed during World War II on the border with Navarre: the clandestine evacuation of British pilots brought down in enemy territory.
