'몰테츠'는 6주 후면 출감하는 죄수이다. 악당 '투르크'의 동생을 살해한 혐의로 수감되었지만 지금은 복권을 즐기며 간수의 고민도 들어주는 모범수이다. '몰테츠'는 직접 복권을 사지 못하기 때문에 번호를 불러주면 간수 '레지오'가 대신 사주곤 한다. 그러던 어느 날 '몰테츠'의 복권이 1등에 당첨되어 '1500만 유로(한화 200억 원)' 라는 거금을 받게 된다. 그러나 복권 영수증은 아프리카 자동차 경주에 자원봉사를 하기 위해 떠난 '레지오'의 아내 '폴린'이 지니고 있다. Didier, 39, an unemployed artist, depressive and hypochondriac, is persuaded he is going to die within one or two months because of the asbestos contained in his radiator. That's why he decides, as a testament destined to his retired father, to have himself filmed in the places he and his parents used to go to for their Sunday escapades when he was a kid. But, after leaving Bastogne, he hears on the radio that Marc Dutroux, the pedophile-torturer-murderer has just escaped the police forces. Totally upset, Didier decides to fork off to Grâce-Hologne, a little village close to Liège, to protect a potential victim of Dutroux.

"Langsamer Satz" premiered in 1962, seventeen years after Webern's death, and has the longest playing time of any piece in his body of work.

The theme of death is heavily interwoven in Smolder’s surreal salute to Belgian painter Antoine Wiertz, a Hieronymus Bosch-type artist whose work centered on humans in various stages in torment, as depicted in expansive canvases with gore galore. Smolders has basically taken a standard documentary and chopped it up, using quotes from the long-dead artist, and periodic statements by a historian (Smolders) filling in a few bits of Wiertz’ life.
