A modern variation on the myth of Faust, the film features Henri Faust, an influential man at the head of a gigantic financial empire. One day, the Devil himself visits her. The Evil One offers him a range of happiness, youth, love, fortune, power; but Faust has everything he wants and he refuses the pact offered to him. However, a fault exists and the Devil will know how to discover it.

The Tunisian born hero of the film decides to break with his disorganized yet habit-ridden life in Paris, and sets off to discover his homeland, which he left at 6 years old, and to rekindle the memory of his mother, who died when he was a child.

Alain, "a young wolf", elegant and racy, is maintained by the princess Linzani. At the same time, he goes out with a girl of his age, Sylvie, who despite her bold attitude has never had a lover.

Jeanne looks back on her love for Jean. The melancholic young man wouldn't accept the world as it was, always wishing to depart. She doesn't know that he's dead.

Immediately after Lisa declares that she is leaving her immature, abusive, but easy-going husband Robert, he is reported dead in a plane crash. Robert Langlois is now married to Catherine, the former housemaid. They reach their climax in his book, Souvenirs entomologiques.

Six young boarding girls return home unexpectedly after their college has been destroyed by fire. Their unexpected presence arouses melodramatic reactions.
