Marie is an executive in an airport. During a rafting trip, she meets Maxime, a parachuting and wingsuit enthusiast. However, she is unaware that Maxime and his gang are looting airport cash-in-transit vehicles and planning a robbery. To ensure Marie's silence, Sofia - leader of the gang - sabotages her parachute during an initiation. Marie falls 2,000 meters but miraculously survives. A year later, handicapped, she took refuge in her parents' house in Gap, her hometown. Until the day Marie meets Sofia, who thinks she is dead and does not recognize her. Marie decides to take revenge by luring them into a new robbery. But Luc Ferraz, a BRI officer looking for the source of the gang's information, is not to be trusted. Marie has the ideal profile. So Luc pretends to be an assistant to her in order to trace the robbers.

해외출장에서 돌아와 아내가 실종된 것을 발견한 한 회사원이 수소문에 나선다. 그러나 아내를 찾으려 하면 할수록 남자는 악몽 같은 무자비한 세상과, 어쩌면 영원히 빠져 나오지 못할 수도 있는 분열의 세계로 점점 빠져들어간다. 로 화제를 뿌렸던 감독들이 내놓은 이 신지알로는 영화 내내 보는 이를 바짝 긴장하게 만드는 맛이 있다. 아마추어 탐정 역할을 하는 외지에서 온 주인공, 원색의 배경 속에서 난도질하는 수수께끼의 살인마, 비밀스러운 스토리와 통로들을 뒤에 감춘, 생명을 가진 유기체 같은 건물, 그 외 다수 익스트림 클로즈업 샷들이 마리오 바바와 다리오 아르젠토 등 지알로 거장들의 수작을 지시한다. 그러나 복제라는 장치의 반복, 살을 에는 듯한 소름 끼치는 음향의 포화, 영화를 관통하는 뒤틀린 관능이 어우러져 생산되는 분열적 세계는 이 감독들의 개성과 재능에 해당한다. 형사와 집주인은 주인공의 분신이기도 하며, 로라라는 미지의 여자 또한 여러 얼굴로 구현된다. 끝까지 관객의 몫으로 남는 풀리지 않는 수수께끼는 이 영화의 치명적 매력을 배가한다. 프랑스에서 악명 높은 갱들을 소탕하기 위해 경찰당국이 혈안이 되자 정의에 불타는 레오와 권력에 굶주린 클랑은 연락책과 연줄을 이용하여 범인들의 행방을 알고자 한다. 이 과정에서 레오는 실리앵이라는 범죄자 연락책 때문에 뜻하지 않게 다른 범죄에 연루되고, 실리앵은 그 대가로 갱단의 소굴을 알려준다. 하지만 레오가 연루됐던 범죄는 클랑과 절친했던 연락책이 죽는 사건이 되었고, 이를 클랑이 눈치 채면서 둘은 적대적인 관계로 발전한다. 갱단 소탕 과정에서 이 둘은 함께 투입되는데, 클랑의 서투른 실수로 레오의 동료 에디가 죽고, 그런 동료의 죽음에 대해 클랑을 원망하게 된 레오는 이를 상부에 보고해서 클랑을 해직시키려고 한다.하지만 클랑은 실리앵 일을 상부에 보고하자 오히려 레오가 감옥에 가게 되고, 다른 사건을 지시하던 중 클랑은 레오의 아내까지 살해하게 된다. 레오의 인생은 순식간에 내리막길로 치닫고, 클랑은 국장이 되면서 부패한 경찰의 내부를 보여주는데...
