'미나'는 병에 걸려 시한부 삶을 산다. 그녀는 1941년 12월 7일에 죽는데, 일본이 진주만 공습을 하면서 태평양전쟁이 시작된 날이다. 그래서 그녀는 일본의 도덕성을 상징한다고 하겠다. 또 한 사람 이 영화의 주인공 토시히코인데, 이어지는 장면에서 미나에게 키스하려고 할 때 그녀가 거절한다. 처음에는 둘이 친척 관계라서 그런 줄 알았는데 나중에 밝혀지는 걸 보면 미나는 토시히코의 이모의 죽은 (만주에서 죽었다) 남편의 여동생이다. 그래서 친척 관계는 이유가 아닌 것 같다. 아마 자신이 곧 죽을 것이기 때문에 사랑하지 말라는 뜻인 듯하다. 도덕성을 잃은 조국을 사랑하지 말라는 뜻도 될까. 토시히코는 평생 독신으로 산다. 그의 미나에 대한 감정은 이 마지막 장면에서야 분명히 드러난다.

A drama in which Yasuko Sawaguchi starred in the movie for the first time in nine years since "Autumn Autumn" and played an elementary school teacher who loves children. Tomoyo Miki became a third-grade class teacher at the transferred elementary school. Tsuyoshi Osanai enters a school for guide dog trainers. After 2 years of training, Tsuyoshi becomes an assistant trainer. His first dog to train is Chie.

Miki, a nursing care robot, is popular among some medical staff and patients for her dainty and efficient work, but others are more skeptical. One day, Miki malfunctions and begins to see and hear fragmented images and voices.

A successful illustrator, Hinohara Takehiro, lives a happy life with his wife Toshiko, who has supported him all these years since the early struggling days, and their two sons. Kitahara Kazunori was diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma in the fall of his second year in high school, and thereafter spent a year and 10 months battling the disease. Although he studied hard for the university examinations and was successfully admitted to his first choice, [the prestigious] Tokyo University, he only managed to visit it for a day before passing away. After that, last January [i.e. 2005], Kazunori's mother compiled the thoughts he had left behind and published it as a book, and it was adapted into this drama. Even as Kazunori had to fight his serious illness, he received support from his friends, school teachers and family members, and had warm relations with many people. This drama illustrates the 1 year and 10 months young Kazunori persevered together with the people around him.

스페이스 고지라를 물리치고 1년 뒤, 고지라와 리틀 고지라가 살던 버스 섬이 갑자기 소멸하고 둘도 모습을 감춘다. 얼마 안 지나 몸이 불타오르는 고지라가 홍콩에 나타난다. 버스 섬이 폭발하면서 그 지하에 있던 천연 우라늄의 영향으로 고지라 체내가 불안정하게 변해 언제 핵폭발할지 모르는 상태가 된 것임이 판명된다. G-FORCE는 슈퍼 X-3 등을 동원하여 고지라를 얼리고 최대한 폭발을 막아보려고 한다. 한편, 국립물리연구소의 이쥬인 켄사쿠는 이상한 미생물들을 발견한다. 아주 먼 옛날 지구에 산소가 없던 시절에 나타났던 미생물들이 초대 고지라를 죽인 옥시전 디스트로이어의 영향을 받아 진화한 데스토로이아였다. 데스트로이아는 연구실을 탈출해 하수구를 통해 시나가와 수족관으로 흘러들어간다. 이윽고 수족관에서는 물고기들이 뼈만 남고 산화하는 사건들이 일어난다. 데스토로이아는 수족관을 중심으로 점점 성장해나간다. G-FORCE는 데스토로이아가 냉동에 약하다는 것을 알아채고 메이서를 동원해 집중 공격한다.
