Sato's re-imagining of In a Grove, on which Rashomon was based. In this version, instead of a web of lies and agendas, we get a web of desires, perversions like incest, and occult phenomenon like an oracle-demon, hallucinations, and human sacrifice. Once again, the story starts with a detective trying to unravel the story of a man and a woman encountering a bandit-rapist in the woods, but the real story keeps turning out to be unfathomable as layer upon layer of strange motives and events keep turning up.
Set Decoration
1984년에 부활한 고지라는 결국 초음파 유도작전에 의해 미하라산의 분화구 속으로 떨어져 최후를 맞은 듯 했다. 그러나 이미 그 시점에서 폐허가 된 신주쿠에서는 각국 첩보원들에 의한 고지라 세포의 치열한 쟁탈전이 벌어지고 있었다. G세포(고지라 세포)는 중동의 산유국 사라지아의 첩보원과 일본 정부의 손에 각각 들어가게 된다. G세포를 입수한 사라지아는 농작물 연구를 위해 초빙한 일본인 시라가미 박사에게 G세포의 힘으로 영원히 시들지 않는 작물을 만들도록 의뢰하지만, 미국의 초거대 식량유통업체인 바이오 메이저의 공작으로 연구소와 G 세포는 함께 폭파되어 사라지고 만다, 그리고 그 과정에서 시라가미 박사의 딸 에리카마저 목숨을 잃게 된다. 시라가미는 딸의 DNA 세포를 장미에게 주입시켜 에리카를 살아있게 한다.
Set Decoration
Originally released in Japan as "The Return of Godzilla" in 1984, this is the heavily re-edited, re-titled "Godzilla 1985". Adding in new footage of Raymond Burr, this 16th Godzilla film ignores all previous sequels and serves as a direct follow-up to the 1956 "Godzilla King of the Monsters", which also featured scenes with Burr edited into 1954's "Godzilla". This film restores the darker tone of the original, as we witness the nuclear destruction of giant lizard terrorizing Japan.
