Shot entirely on location in Hollywood in 1984, this feature documentary explores the role of black actors, black directors and the black audience in American movies.

Ex-slave and former Union soldier Gideon Jackson represents other ex-slaves at the constitutional convention, and is soon elected to the U.S. Senate despite opposition from white landowners, law enforcement and the KKK. He unites with sharecropper Abner Lait, who helps Jackson unite ex-slaves and white tenant farmers.

Hanks: 브라이언 데니히 분)는 보안관에게 잡혀가면서 부치가 자기를 밀고한 것으로 오해하고 복수할 기회를 벼른다. 그러다가 부치인 줄 잘못 알고 선댄스를 쏴서 선댄스는 중상을 당한다. 부치는 부상한 선댄스를 자기 집으로 데려다가 치료를 받고 요양을 하게 하는데 오씨는 거기까지 쫓아온다. 그러나 선댄스와 대결하다가 죽는다. 선댄스는 돈을 실은 기차를 터는게 소원이라 부치를 졸라 기차를 털궁리를 한다. 부치는 사랑하는 아내와 자식들을 위해서 범죄에서 손을 떼려고 바르게 살아 가려고 결심했으나 동료들의 부추김에 다시 말려든다. 그들은 부치의 치밀한 계획에 따라서 성공적으로 범행을 마친다. 그러나 그들은 언젠가 체포되리라는 것을 알고 있다. 부치는 이제부터라도 바르게 살려고 노력할 것을 다짐한다.

Using the Matabele Boy King as a shield, Beatty and Grant make an escape and Grubbs is forced to accompany them, leaving his loot behind.
