Jon Karl Kristian Mankell, born September 28, 1980 in Norrköping's Sankt Olai parish in Östergötland County, is a Swedish film producer. Jon Mankell studied at Örebro University from 2002–2005. He was a producer at Yellow Bird 2005–2014 and has been active at Chimney since 2014. Among other things, he has worked with film productions from the Wallander series and the Millennium series. He has been a board member of Yellow Horse Film & TV AB and Palco Media AB since 2009. He is the son of the author Henning Mankell and Ulla Blom Ivarsson and the grandson of Ivar Mankell. He is cohabiting with Lina Jernström (born 1980) and has a daughter (born 2015).

When Roland is sentenced to prison, his son, 16-year old Kimmie, is expected to provide for the family by taking over his dad's criminal business. This is a task he's not ready for. The film's depicting a boy's brutal entry into adult life and examines aspects of social heritage and patriarchal structures, at a time when the welfare is declining and Sweden is at change.

Around the same time, Kurt finds where his forgetfulness comes from.

While covering the annual Nobel Banquet for tabloid Kvällspressen, crime reporter Annika Bengtzon witnesses a spectacular murder right in front of her. Two people are shot, one of them the controversial Laureate in Medicine, Aaron Wiesel. Annika is the key witness and is bound by the police not to disclose anything she has seen. A terrorist group with connections to the Middle East quickly admits responsibility for the murder. International press is all over the story, as are the police.
