왕가위 감독이 자신과 유진위 감독이 1992년 함께 설립한 '택동(澤東) 영화사'의 30주년을 기념해 만든 30분짜리 단편 다큐멘터리. 영화 제목은 〈중경삼림(1994)〉의 대사 중에서 따왔다. "우리가 가장 가까이 스쳤던 순간, 서로의 거리는 0.01 센티미터밖에 안됐다". 영화 속에는 왕가위 감독 작품의 비공개 삭제 장면들과 촬영 뒷이야기들이 담겨 있으며 왕 감독은 달걀에 대한 이야기를 한다.

2001년 로 데뷔해 길지 않은 기간 동안 부지런히 재기발랄한 영화를 만들어온 팽호상 감독의 일곱 번째 영화. 는 7개의 짧은 이야기를 묶은 옴니버스 영화다. 혼전순결을 지키느라 세계축제일마다 선물 삼아 오럴섹스를 하던 커플이 질식사하는 이야기부터 우리 별의 원죄가 거짓말에 기원하게 된 (가짜)역사 이야기까지 팡호청 감독은 하나의 농담이 끝나면 곧장 다른 태도로 또 다른 농담을 줄줄이 지어낸다. 그는 짐짓 진지함을 가장한 채 지저분하고 황당하고 에로틱하고 무시무시한 이야기를 ‘이 얘긴 어때? 재미없어? 그럼 이건?’하는 식의 태도로 쏟아내는 것이다. 멜로에서 SF까지 매우 다양한 장르를 횡단하는 이 영화는 각각의 이야기 색깔에 따라 스타일과 톤도 바뀐다. 장르와 스타일뿐만 아니라 각 에피소드의 러닝 타임도 5분에서 20분에 이르기까지 일정하지 않다. 아마도 ‘블랙코미디’는 이 팔색조같은 영화를 관통하는 유일한 키워드일 것이다. 데뷔 전 홍콩 TV에서 개그쇼 작가로 일한 감독의 경력에 고개를 끄덕이게 된다. -강소원(영화평론가)

Gang leader Jim Yam has ascended nearly to the pinnacle of power in the underworld, but it brings him few satisfactions. As he watches his peers drop dead around him - many of them amazingly from natural causes - he finds himself more and more soldiering on because that's just what bosses do. Made up of four short stories. One, a lonely hooker can't stop crying whenever she has sex with her clients. She approaches a shrink and ends up stalking him. And lastly, a woman one day suddenly decides that she had enough of her failing marriage and desperately seeks a reinvention of her life.

기억상실증에 걸린 청부살인업자 황지명은 창녀인 동업자 가흔 외엔 아무 연고가 없는 고독한 킬러였고 가흔은 동업자인 이 킬러에게 사랑을 느끼게 된다. 황지명은 완벽한 사업을 위해선 사적인 감정이 개입되어선 안된다는 생각에 가흔과 만나는 걸 철저히 피했다. 하지만 가흔은 그런 황지명을 그리며, 일방적인 사랑의 감정을 가슴에 묻어둔다. 다섯살때 말을 잃게 된 하지무는 하나뿐인 가족인 아버지를 모시고 친구도 직장도 없이 살아가던 중 남의 가게에 숨어들어가 폭력적인 방법으로 장사를 한다. 사랑이란 걸 몰랐던 그에게 어느 날 실연당한 여인 챨리를 만나 왠지 모를 사랑의 감정을 싹틔운다. 황지명은 의식적으로 가흔을 피하기 위해 낯선 창녀에게 몸을 맡기고 가흔과의 동업을 끝내려고 한다. 가흔은 사랑하는 이를 보내는 아쉬움에 마지막 일을 부탁하는데 그것은 가흔이 또 다른 살인청부업자에게 자신을 배신한 황지명을 살해하기 위한 앙갚음이었다. 하지무 역시 첫사랑인 챨리로부터 배신당한 아픔을 뒤로한 채 일본인이 경영하는 식당에서 일하면서 새로운 삶을 개척해 나가려 한다.

Inevitably, the two begin to find solace in each other's company -- Ching-man even acting as a sort of surrogate father for her son -- and soon in each other's arms. Just as true love seems about to bloom, Hiu-tung's thuggish husband returns.
