Numa pequena cidade da Nova Inglaterra, um corpo é encontrado na floresta, criando uma grande confusão. Todos querem esconder ou fazer algo com o corpo sem levantar suspeitas, pois todos pensam que o morto é responsabilidade e obra sua. Mas afinal, quem o matou?

A família Newman está em férias na África. Eles planejam um safári a uma reserva animal, mas Tom não embarca devido a pendências urgentes no trabalho. Com isto viajam apenas Jessica e David, seus filhos, e Amy, a nova esposa de Tom. Para tornar a viagem mais emocionante Brian, o guarda da reserva, decide levá-los por um caminho alternativo. Eles param ao chegar no Rio do Crocodilo, que agora nada mais é do que um leito de rio vasto e seco. É quando eles encontram um grupo de leões famintos, que passa a persegui-los.

À primeira vista os Thornberrys parecem ser uma família normal, formado pelos pais, duas filhas e um animal de estimação. O pai, Nigel (Tim Curry), é apresentador de documentários sobre animais, que por sua vez são dirigidos por sua esposa, Marianne (Jodi Carlisle). Para facilitar o trabalho eles vivem rodando o planeta para realizar seus documentários, carregando junto as filhas Eliza (Lacey Chabert) e Debbie (Danielle Harris), viajando em um ônibus recheado de equipamentos.

Victor Marswell runs a big game trapping company in Kenya. Eloise Kelly is ditched there, and an immediate attraction happens between them. Then Mr. and Mrs. Nordley show up for their gorilla documenting safari. Mrs. Nordley is not infatuated with her husband any more, and takes a liking to Marswell. The two men and two women have some difficulty arranging these emotions to their mutual satisfaction, but eventually succeed.

Two couples are on a boating trip when they come across an uncharted island. The four investigate and find themselves in the clutches of Dr. Albert Balleau, whose hobby is hunting both animals and humans… The group tries to escape only to be thwarted by Dr. Balleau and his henchmen.

Além do risco que corre, Sean fica contrariado quando chega uma mulher no acampamento contratada pelo zoológico de Los Angeles para documentar a captura dos animais. Dallas se mostra à vontade no lugar, e se torna conhecida dos nativos por "Momma Tembo" (Mãe dos Elefantes), por acolher alguns filhotes elefantes órfãos, que tumultam ainda mais a vida no acampamento.

Inspector Rizzo in Napoli gets a message from a policeman from South Africa who wants to meet him. Immediately before this meeting the south African policeman is killed. Dying he shows Rizzo a picture of his little son Bodo. Rizzo travels to Johannesburg to find out what the policeman was working on and to find Bodo.

In the arctic, as Saiva is being born, a shaman declares that she is evil and will bring harm to all who become involved with her.
