Sinopse
Three stories reconstructing the start of the triumphant Cuban revolution which deposed Batista.
Em 1958, logo após a mudança para Cuba com seus pais, Katey Mille (Romola Garai), uma garota 18 anos, desafia seu círculo social ao encontrar-se com Javier (Diego Luna), um garçom cubano apaixonado pela dança.
Fidel Castro viaja do México para Cuba com oito rebeldes, entre eles Ernesto Che Guevara e seu irmão Raul. Guevara era um médico argentino que tinha por objetivo ajudar Castro a derrubar o governo de Fulgêncio Batista. Ao chegar, logo se integra à guerrilha, participando da luta armada mas também cuidando dos doentes. Aos poucos ele ganha o respeito de seus companheiros e torna-se um dos líderes da revolução que está por vir.
Após ser educado com a Revolução Cubana e premiado nacionalmente por seu trabalho, o escritor Reynaldo Arenas (Javier Bardem) termina sendo preso e, posteriormente, exilado de seu país-natal. O longa aborda a vida de Reynaldo Arenas, desde sua infância pobre até seu exílio em Nova York, passando pelo horror e preconceito sofrido ainda em Cuba, pelo fato de ser homossexual.

An American professional gambler named Jack Weil decides to visit Havana, Cuba to gamble. On the boat to Havana, he meets Roberta Duran, the wife of a revolutionary, Arturo.
