Bronx, 1960. Um garoto de nove anos (Francis Capra), filho de um motorista de ônibus (Robert De Niro), testemunha um assassinato cometido pelo principal gângster do bairro (Chazz Palminteri), mas quando a polícia o interroga ele não delata o criminoso.
