Truly Human (2001)

A despicable teacher uses his prestigious reputation to verbally and sexually abuse his students.

The entire extended family is happily on its way to a nostalgic Christmas at a rented cabin in the mountains. The cabin becomes cramped, however, when mom and dad and four grown-up children with their respective families, a dog and in-laws from Poland squeeze inside the frozen cabin walls in 30-below-zero weather.

The well-ordered life of Dylan Thomas, a high-priced male escort, goes into moral free-fall beginning with the night he impulsively takes home a young woman he finds passed out drunk on a sidewalk. A sad little stray cat in a Lycra dress and Prada shoes, Allison Campbell is looking for security or love, and she may not know the difference. While Dylan plies his trade in swank hotels, a tentative domestic relationship with seemingly homeless Allison evolves, based on the illusion that neither of them has a past. Voyeurism is the dramatic strategy and the lure for this story.

Em um restaurante o grupo encontra Karen, uma mulher que parece não ter preconceitos contra a quebra dos rituais burgueses feita por eles e a levam para a casa onde moram todos juntos.

Cæcilie (Sonja Richter) e Joachim (Nikolaj Lie Kaas) são namorados e estão prestes a se casar. Só que a felicidade do casal acaba quando ele é atropelado e fica tetraplégico. Procurando consolo, Cæcilie começa a ter um caso com o médico Niels (Mads Mikkelsen), casado com a mulher que atropelou Joachim. The emphasis on purity forces the filmmakers to focus on the actual story and on the actors' performances. Given these restrictions the story and the action of DIAS DE BODA ('WEDDING DAYS') seem much more immediate and the lapses in fluidity of the story can be forgiven - to a point.

Following college, Karen relocates to Security, Colorado, to be close to boyfriend Paul. With an apartment and a job in a record store, her life is in order, so she then embarks on her dream of becoming a writer. However, her job is unfulfilling, and when she spots a theft in the store, she doesn't report the shoplifter but instead attempts to befriend her. Unable to relate to life around her, Karen has a growing dissatisfaction with her existence, and an unusual psychological portrait emerges as she attempts to deal with everyday realities and finding security in Security.

William is constantly shooting video journals of his life to have as souvenirs for himself. Feeling the end of his relationship with Médéric, his young lover, William spends two days camping with him, taking advantage of the situation by filming the trip and their time spent with another young gay couple. The camera never stops shooting, even when Médéric decides to get it on with another guy in a tent. As Canada's first Dogme95 film, the story is shot on location, with natural lighting and live sound, the camera is hand-held and all superficial elements are forbidden. Yet somehow, in spite of these harsh restrictions during the filmmaking process, the result is warm and beautiful.

Fabián, a magician from Buenos Aires, saves his money from weddings, birthdays, and bar mitzvahs, and uses a hidden camera to document a week-long trip to the Falkland Islands where he has a patriotic plan: to impregnate a British woman. He spends his first couple of days in Stanley doing reconnaissance, setting his sights on Camila, whom he's first seen in church. He chats her up at an Internet café. They go out for drinks, then dinner, then to the see the King penguins and a 1982 battlefield. Back home, editing his Dogma 95 film, he receives a final message from Camila.

Chetzemoka's Curse is about a young, twenty-something woman, Maya (Maya Berthoud), who is haunted by the memory of her first love and her subsequent betrayal. She still feels the pain, works to exorcise it as she wiles away her life as a maid in a small town hotel. But her road to health seems to include passing the bad karma along. She encourages an older married man to run off with her and betray his wife and kids. Betrayal is in the air. Even an itinerant street musician sings about his infidelity. Bottom line, he says, is that he betrayed himself.

As malditas interrelações humanas encenadas com o texto shakespeariano não superam a incapacidade de conviver em grupo harmonicamente. "O estupendo streap tease das necessidades humanas" diz um personagem em certa altura.
