Sinopse
“Acorda, Clubber!” é um longa-metragem documentário sobre a ascensão da cena da música eletrônica em Natal nos últimos três anos. O filme é apresentado por Frank, dj natalense conhecido por entoar a frase que dá nome ao longa. Dividido em seis capítulos, “Acorda, Clubber!” conta como se deu a ocupação da música eletrônica em espaços públicos e culturais da cidade e a proporção que o movimento tomou, se tornando um projeto multiartístico.
Ren MacCormack muda-se de Boston para uma pequena cidade no sul, Bomont, onde é confrontado por um forte choque cultural. Alguns anos antes, a comunidade tinha sofrido um trágico acidente que provocou a morte de cinco jovens, depois de uma saída à noite, levando os vereadores da cidade e o adorado Reverendo Shaw Moore a proibirem música alta e dança. Sem ninguém para ceder ao status quo, Ren desafia estas proibições, revitalizando a cidade, enquanto se apaixona pela problemática filha do ministro, Ariel.

This work by indie filmmaker Ikon documents 20 Years of Jungle Mania, a rave held on 6 April 2013 at the Coronet Theatre in London. The event celebrated and commemorated 20 years of drum and bass music in London dance culture. In addition to coverage of the live performances and the crowd, the film features interviews with reknowned drum and bass DJs and producers who performed that night.
