SPEED - NOT THAT NICE (2022)

Theo (Ryan Reynolds) é um caracol de jardim, que passa o dia com outros caracóis, colhendo tomates e torcendo para não ser capturado por aves predadoras. Apesar da vida pacata, este jovem animal sonha em se tornar extremamente veloz, como o seu ídolo, o corredor campeão de Indianápolis Guy Gagné (Bill Hader). A obsessão pela velocidade faz que com Theo seja ridicularizado pelos colegas. Um dia, no entanto, ele cai acidentalmente dentro do motor de um grande carro de corrida, e um efeito inesperado acontece em seu corpo, fazendo com que ele se torne extremamente veloz. Rebatizado Turbo, o caracol encontra abrigo na casa de Tito (Michael Peña), um vendedor de comida mexicana conhecido pelos planos inusitados e que quase sempre dão errado. Surpreso com a velocidade de Turbo, Tito decide levá-lo à corrida de Indianápolis, para competir com Guy Gagné.

A história do filme conta da época de ouro da categoria, e como ela reagiu ao crescente número de acidentes graves e fatais nos anos 70, e como procurou reverter o cenário. A filmagem, dos mesmos produtores do ganhador do Oscar “Undefeated” e narrada pelo ator alemão Michael Fassbender, usa imagens originais de corridas da época.

Finally, the director meets the mother of little Bianca Leduc, who was killed by a drunk driver while she was in the care of her babysitter, and the parents of Michael Borduas, 23, who is severely disabled from an accident.

Lonigan and his partner Tony, two drug dealers, shoot two cops who attempt to set them up, and run away with a million bucks and the drugs, which they stash in a red Corvette Stingray in a used car lot. When they attempt to recover their stash with their leader, Abigail, they find out that two happy-go-lucky dudes, Elmo and Al, have bought the car. They quickly pursue the two along with the police who think that the car's new owners are the criminals.

The best moments are those that find Clarkson sticking to the brief: interviewing the aristo-twit tobogganers of the Cresta Run; trying to understand why he, an experienced driver, will never be as fast as Michael Schumacher or Colin McRae; a musing on the qualities needed to be a fighter pilot; an examination of the extraordinary sport of speed-skiing, in which cat-suited kamikazes hit speeds of up to 150 miles an hour.
