Lorry driver Armand applies the same degree of ardor to his love-making as to his work, and his biggest rival is the boss' son, Berto, a strutting rooster who is very proud of his American car. After work each day, Kissa queens it in the cabaret on shore, and derives great pleasure in arousing jealousy between the men.

A segunda, uma ficção sobre um casal em crise, tendo como pano-de-fundo a volta do protagonista a este mesmo local, onde nasceu e passou sua infância. Dessa relação de forças entre a existência de personagens e o ambiente físico real pelos quais eles estão envoltos surge uma característica forte da obra, que ainda estava por se construir, de Varda: a poesia do espaço, nunca visto isoladamente, mas sempre em conjunto com os homens e mulheres que nele convivem.
