O jovem monge budista Arnont (Mario Maurer) tem dúvidas sobre sua fé desde que testemunhou o conhecido gângster Singh Kam (Dom Hetrakul) decapitado por um crime que ele pode não ter cometido. Diz-se que ele matou o rico senhor da guerra Larh-Fah (Ananda Everingham) por inveja e ciúme. Muitos também assumem que Kam estava tendo um caso com a esposa de Larh-Fah, Kham-Kaew (Cherrn Boonyasak). Arnont é citado como testemunha na audiência.
