Hanako Haibara nasceu e cresceu na cidade de Tóquio. Depois de ser abandonada pelo namorado, já com 20 e poucos anos, ela sai em encontros às cegas para encontrar um homem para se casar, estimulada pelos pais. Miki Tokioka nasceu no interior. Ela estudou muito e entrou em uma universidade de prestígio em Tóquio. Ela passou por momentos financeiros difíceis, e agora trabalha em uma empresa de TI, mas sente um vazio na vida sentimental. Hanako Haibara e Miki Tokioka acabam se cruzando por causa de um homem que ambas conhecem.

Kako (Fumi Nikaido) is a female high school student. She lives at a restaurant run by her family in Kitashinagawa, Tokyo. Unexpectedly, Kako's aunt, Mikiko (Kyoko Koizumi), suddenly appears. Kako thought her aunt died 18 years ago. Her whole family is embarrassed by Mikiko's appearance due to a past incident caused by Mikiko. Kako is also irritated when Mikiko lives in her room. They spend the summer together.

A trio of journalists receive a mysterious DVD from an unknown source. The young woman journalist decides to watch the DVD and disappears. Her two friends begin an investigation into her disappearance that turns up a video she shot while watching the DVD they received in the mail. Upon viewing it appears she was not alone in her apartment. Who is the mystery woman seen only in a reflection and what caused the young lady to commit suicide?

Kawamoto works and lives in a dilapidated pool hall which also serves as a rehearsal space for him and his friend Chikako. They seem contented to while away their hours doing nothing much at all. Meanwhile, an old pool shark meets some people from his past that he is none too happy to see again. How will this affect their private haven?
