Quando Tokue, uma senhora com cerca de 70 anos, se oferece para trabalhar na pastelaria, ele aceita com relutância. No entanto, Tokue rapidamente prova que a sua receita de “an” é mágica. Director Tominaga Masanori (Pandora's Box) brings Motoya Yukiko's offbeat play Ranbo to Taiki to the big screen in a juicy, neurotic tangle of love, hate and voyeurism. Hidenori (Asano Tadanobu) and Nanase (Minami) have lived together for ten years in a tense, platonic relationship. The wheels of change are set in motion when married couple Takao (Yamada Takayuki) and Azusa (Koike Eiko) move in next door. After Hidenori catches Nanase and Takao having an affair, he becomes obsessed with watching Nanase through a peephole, and planning his cruel revenge.

Kaoru, a wealthy woman whose youth is fading, abandons the hustle and bustle of the city to live a peaceful life in a house on the coast. There she takes care of an old deaf, dumb and blind man as if he were an insect, a child or a pet. He can’t do anything for himself, so she feeds him and accompanies him on his walks. This strong mutual dependency offers Kaoru an escape from society and allows her to free herself from restrictions imposed by common sense.

Um ônibus repleto de turistas atravessa uma região montanhosa do Marrocos. Entre os viajantes estão Richard (Brad Pitt) e Susan (Cate Blanchett), um casal de americanos. Ali perto os meninos Ahmed (Said Tarchani) e Youssef (Boubker At El Caid) manejam um rifle que seu pai lhes deu para proteger a pequena criação de cabras da família. Um tiro atinge o ônibus, ferindo Susan. A partir daí o filme mostra como este fato afeta a vida de pessoas em vários pontos diferentes do mundo: nos Estados Unidos, onde Richard e Susan deixaram seus filhos aos cuidados da babá mexicana; no Japão, onde um homem (Kôji Yakusho) tenta superar a morte trágica de sua mulher e ajudar a filha surda (Rinko Kinkuchi) a aceitar a perda; no México, para onde a babá (Adriana Barraza) acaba levando as crianças; e ali mesmo, no Marrocos, onde a polícia passa a procurar suspeitos de um ato terrorista.

Seven friends gather at a party in Kyoto to celebrate Masamichi's entry to graduate school. Maki & her boyfriend Nakazawa join the party and get drunk easily after the friendship reunion. Kate has a crush on one of the cute guy who doesn't have any interests on her though. The cheerful and unforgettable night is full of joy while the whales and the thief incidents also attract the attention of them. Before the sunrise, seven friends meet again on the beach so as to witness the fade of youth days.
