Paris, 1910. Emile (Sébastien Desjours) é apaixonado por filmes e trabalha como projecionista em uma sala de exibição. Ele está interessada em Maud (Ludivine Sagnier), que também trabalha no cinema, mas tem medo de expressar seus sentimentos. Seu melhor amigo é Raoul (Gad Elmaleh), um criativo inventor que embarca com ele na caça a um misterioso monstro que está aterrorizando a cidade. Na jornada a dupla conta com a ajuda de Lucille (Vanessa Paradis), a estrela do cabaré LOiseau Rare.

Algeria, 1960. A section of French paratroopers are sent in search of a missing aircraft in the Algerian desert. The wreckage of the plane is quickly located, but there are no survivors, just a suitcase stamped “Top Secret”. Stormed by enemy soldiers, the troops find refuge in a strange abandoned citadel. Despite warnings from the place’s Guardian to leave at once, they wake up the Djinns, the evil spirits of the desert .
