Henrik é um jovem padre que vive em Estocolmo, constantemente atormentado por pesadelos com sua falecida mãe. Um dia, recebe a notícia de que seu pai, também padre e que mora num povoado remoto, se afogou e morreu. As circunstâncias do afogamento são misteriosas. Henrik viaja até o povoado para investigar as causas de sua morte. Ao descobrir mais sobre o afogamento e sobre seu pai, a porta para o desconhecido é aberta. Sombras do passado emergem, retornando para esse mundo por um único motivo: vingança.
