From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Dennis Morgan (born Earl Stanley Morner, December 20, 1908 – September 7, 1994) was an American actor-singer. He used the acting pseudonym Richard Stanley before adopting the name under which he gained his greatest fame. Morgan started working at MGM as Stanley Morner. His best roles were in Mama Steps Out (1937) and Song of the City (1937), but he mostly did small parts. Morgan signed with Paramount billed as Richard Stanley. He was in several films in 1938 and 1939, including Men With Wings (1938). At Warner Bros. Morgan was billed as Dennis Morgan and was finally given lead roles in B movies such as Waterfront (1939) and No Place to Go (1939). In 1940 he was promoted to A movies. His best parts were in Kitty Foyle (1940) (on loan to RKO), Thank Your Lucky Stars (1943), and God is My Co-Pilot. He was often paired with Jack Carson. After Morgan's contract with Warner ended in 1952 he appeared in sporadic television guest roles. He retired from film work in 1956.

Steve arranges to meet--and woo--Vicki and then invite her and her uncle to the club. When Vicki's snobbish aunt and the manager discover that Vicki now favors popular music over the classics, they arrange to get the club closed. But that doesn't keep Steve and Jeff down. Instead, they decide to put on a Broadway show if they can get a backer. They find their "angel" in Vicki's uncle who agrees to finance the show only if Vicki is the leading lady. But again, Vicki's aunt and manager may be the spoiler in everyone's plans.

Nicholas quits and continues to work on his own airplane, with the devoted help of his little daughter Peggy. Peggy is actually the first in her family to fly when her friends, Patrick Falconer and Scott Barnes, induce her to get inside a large kite they have made, and run with it in a field until she is airborne. The kite is caught in a tree, however, and Peggy gets a black eye. Later, Nicholas dies when his experimental airplane crashes, leaving his wife and children alone. By Peggy's adulthood, planes are capable of flying at an altitude of 11,000 feet, and speeds of nearly 100 m.p.h. Peggy continues her father's obsession with flight by helping Scott and Pat to build a plane.
