Gayatri's mother-in-law Bindu Devi tries to set fire to her on her wedding night for her dowry; her husband Jainath is equally responsible for this attempt. Gayatri is saved by Triloki, but he doesn't have good intentions: he rapes her. Gayatri saves another woman from getting molested and both meet Maataji, who is also a victim of dowry. Maataji trains helpless women to fight against injustice and Gayatri turns into a rebel.

This is a 1990 Hindi-language Indian feature film directed by Yesh Chauhaan, starring Sumeet Saigal in lead role.

Honest mint employee, Ghanshyam (Shreeram Lagoo) gets framed for murder by Joseph D'Souza (Amjad Khan), and has to flee from the police. He is separated from his wife, Radhika (Seema Deo), two sons, and a blind daughter. Years later, Ghanshyam, after being forced to work for Joseph to print fake rupee notes, is rich and known as Vikram Singh; his daughter and wife are homeless and destitute; his elder son, Ravi (Vinod Khanna) is a burglar at night, and a rich and respectable man named Kunwar Dilip Singh during the day; his other son, Sushil (Raj Babbar) is a police inspector, adopted by the Police Commissioner (Om Shivpuri). Joseph, now known as Tripathi, comes to know that Ravi is Ghanshyam's son, and devices a scheme that will bring certain death to Ghanshyam and his family.

Suresh's (Sanjeev Kumar) wife dies due to some illness leaving behind her mother (Durga Khote) and two children, Chunnu and Munni. Time passed kids grow older. Durga Khote wants Suresh to get married again but Suresh hesitates. Khote's Brother wants his daughter (Bindu) to marry Suresh as he has lot of wealth. But Suresh does not like her. Meanwhile, Munni and Chuunu's teacher goes on month tour leaving behind temporary teacher Nirmala (Sharda).

An impossibly innocent villager named Ganga comes to the big city to find a girl who would agree to become his wife. The first girl he meets is actually a troubled prostitute named Champa whom he manages to rescue from the brothel she has been in for some time. He takes her home and in a most typical Hindi film style, announces her as his sister. Along with them lives a crippled middle-aged man. Ganga falls for a beautiful girl named Barkha, and her parents agree to have them married, but alas, Barkha's brother Rakesh identifies Champa and the marriage is cancelled as a result.

A poor man with a large family struggles to make ends meet. His troubles are compounded when his daughter injures her foot which needs to be amputated. Desperate, he decides to abandon her.

Dr. Gautamdas (Rajinder Kumar) attains his qualifications in London, England, and with the blessings of Lord Bertrand Russell (himself), returns to his home country and his dad (Balraj Sahni). Meloda's dad is also a doctor (Chetan Anand). Meloda had studied in India and speaks Hindi fluently. Both fall in love amongst the splendour of Japan.

A dying man entrusts his lives earnings to Purshotam, a stranger he just met, and asks him to promise to take this money to his wife, and son, Pradeep, in a remote village in India, to which Purshotam agrees. Sunder, a laid-back young man, cares nothing about responsibilities towards his own future or of his family's. At much persuasion by his widowed mother, Sunder leaves on a journey to find a suitable groom for his sister Laajo. Sunder's mother and maternal uncle Bishandas are happy for Sunder's marriage but are disappointed by Sunder's irresponsibility towards Laajo's marriage. This time Bishandas decides to accompany Sunder for a groom hunt. After a few attempts they find a boy for Laajo, Atmaram, a government employee. The marriage takes place, but Atmaram's father Lala Kedarnath asks for money as dowry. This puts Laajo's marriage in jeopardize. Finally, Bishandas manages to make Atmaram to disown his father and accept Laajo.
