In the 1990s post-communist Slovakia, former woods worker Miki takes his chances to start doing business at a local level and climb up the ladder to become the biggest mafia boss in the country.
Jozef Mak is illegitimate child of poor widow. He constantly withstands oppression of brother, village people and various wounds of fate. Despite of difficulties of the life, he moves on as resilient as the social class he represents.
Guardsman
Два молодых словацких еврея, Фредди и Вальтер, были отправлены в лагерь смерти Освенцим в 1942 году. 10 апреля 1944 после тщательного планирования и при помощи других узников им всё же удаётся сбежать. Пока остальные мужественно стоят на своём, не поддаваясь нацистским офицерам, двое мужчин хранят надежду на то, что доказательства событий, которые у них есть, могут спасти жизни. Усталые и измученные, они пробираются через горы в обратно в Словакию, пересекают границу и встречаются с представителями Красного Креста и передают им подробнейший отчёт о геноциде в лагере. Но сказанное ими настолько ужасно, что люди не могут в это поверить, а отчёт даже не хотят публиковать.

Jiri Pospichal, eighteen years old, signs up as a volunteer in the Czechoslovak army. His naive ideas about heroism are rawly confronted with the hell of the African desert, complicated relationships in his unit and the ubiquitous threat of death.
A contemporary tragicomedy from a modern city about disintegration of relationship, disintegration of a marriage, and maybe also about the disappearance of basic rules from decent life. A very black comedy about people in their 40ies who already have money, but still listen to rock and roll, exchanging drugs for mobile phones.
