На этот раз Тора-сан встречает работницу завода Ханако. Та предлагает Тора-сану жениться на ней, но неожиданно объявляется её поручитель и забирает девушку домой, когда Тора-сана не было рядом. И он опять отправляется в дорогу.

Надеясь загладить свою вину перед семьёй за неприятности, которые он причинил им в прошлом, Тора-сан играет в азартные игры и побеждает на скачках. Он планирует предоставить дяде и тёте отпуск на Гавайях, но тур-агент оказывается мошенником и уезжает с их деньгами. Тора-сан влюбляется в Харуко, молодую воспитательницу детского сада, которая снимает комнату в доме его дяди.

Тора-сан возвращается домой, потому что у его сестры родился сын. Он встречается с профессором Цубути, который преподавал английский язык, но фактически интересует его Нацуко, красивая дочь профессора. Услышав, что мать, которую он не видел с рождения, живет в Киото, Тора-сан решает навестить ее. К своему большому разочарованию он узнает, что она владеет домом, пользующимся дурной репутацией.

Oichi may have met her match as she vies against the evil beauty that has set her sights on destroying her. She must face numerous other challenges before confronting her greatest rival. While longing to live and love like other women, she realizes that she can never have a normal life, her sword which she holds on to like a security blanket will always come between her and such a life...

A young girl named Oichi is abandoned by her mother and blinded by a lightning strike. When her guardian is killed, she learns to wield a sword from a traveling ronin. As she develops into a master swordsman, her profession becomes that of a bounty hunter. Many test her sword and many die by her skills. She travels throughout the countryside to seek her mother and her revenge.

Tonomura has a singular taste in women. He likes them, but he wants them tattooed. To this end, young Osayo has herself decorated with a celebrated flying-angel pattern and in this way brings much pleasure to her patron. A young hoodlum named Shinnosuke also covets the tattooed maiden. He, decorated with the design of a famous thief, finally gets to her and she responds as she rarely does with her older lover. Also in love with her is a young girl named Okimi who has herself tattooed with a courtesan design just to please the older woman. Having done so, however, she becomes fair prey to the tattoo-loving Tonomura who loses no time in seducing her.

A melodrama about a talented singer who finally makes her debut. A remake of the 1939 film of the same name.
