The first twenty years of Adelheid Dworak's life (1869 to 1889) are traced in a mixture of biographical feature and historical documentary.

It is autumn. An area of villas in the outkirts of the city. A dilapidated villa in an overgrown garden. The three Schwarz sisters live there. They make life miserable for themselves by constantly harassing each other. They can't live together but they can't get away from each other. Their father has been dead for a long time, but his spirit is omnipresent. One day a letter arrives and the uneventful lives of the sisters are thrown into confusion.

In this wacky comedy, teen-aged Tony (Bentley C. Mitchum) has never known who is father is. Together with his best buddies Peter and Susan, he tracks down the clues he has as well as he can.

In a city of the future, man has triumphed over nature and at the same time destroyed the environment. In the highly mechanized cities, all goods and services are equally available for everybody. Each person recieves an "energy chip" on their 16th birthday which serves to pay for everything: Food as well as transportation, bar visits and other leisure pastimes. A neo-Nazi organization is recruiting in the 1980s, and two youths of high-school age join for similar reasons, despite class differences. Thomas is the son of a self-made industrialist father and a scolding social-climbing mother. He attends private school and has a brother who's an accomplished musician, but neither can satisfy mom's constant demands for school and social success. She belittles them, and there's incessant bickering at their table. Charly, a dropout, is the son of an abusive, alcoholic laborer. In the youth group, each finds order, respect, camaraderie, and adults who seem to value them. Where do domestic abuse and sanctioned political violence end?
