Tobias, can't believe his eyes when he comes to the airport to pick up his 17-year-old son Finn – and learns that Finn is now calling herself Helen and wearing girls' clothes. Finn/Helen reveals that she's always was a girl, and that she used her year abroad in San Francisco to pass the "everyday life" test. This is required by law for everyone preparing for the sex reassignment surgery they will undergo upon reaching majority. Reactions from Helen's friends, acquaintances and schoolmates cover the entire gamut from derision to solidarity. Especially Helen's father, a well-known chef, finds it difficult to accept a situation he cannot understand. But Helen nearly always finds the right words - and humor - to counterbalance the ignorance and jeers of those around her. It is the beginning of a long, winding road towards the sexual identity she is convinced is hers.

Todos tienen sus obsesiones (como las tenía en llamado “monstruo de Amstetten”) y las guardan en sus sótanos.

Simon, un niño de de doce años, y su alocada hermana mayor Louise (Léa Seidoux) viven en un pueblo desolado en la falda de las montañas nevadas. Cerca hay una estación de esquí, a la que Simon va todos los días para robar los equipos a los turistas y revendérselos a los niños del barrio. Así es como Simon mantiene a la familia.

Rodada en un único plano secuencia, el film tiene como escenario el famoso barrio berlinés de Kreuzberg. La cámara es testigo de todo lo que le pasa a la joven Victoria, una joven española de Berlín, durante dos horas de su vida: desde las cuatro de la mañana hasta las seis: desde que conoce a cuatro jóvenes para los que la noche acaba de empezar, y cómo en ese breve periodo de tiempo le suceden cosas que darán un giro total a su vida.

The class of a normal German school travel to a small village in Poland near the sea where no action of any kind can take place. Due to this fact they focus on themselves. Especially one girl, Isa, has to choose between two boys who are fighting against each other. Then a final "test" is made to come to a decision... a test with final results.

This is the story of Sylvia, who looses her stepchildren on a shopping trip in Poland. For fear of loosing her husband's love, too, she is unable to tell him what has happened and returns home, pretending anything is fine. When realising the missing of his children, the father starts a desperate retrieval. He is ready to give up anything in order to find them. Sylvia supports him in any way; she tries to comfort him and takes care of his hope's vulnerable flame. For the first time he really needs her. While the children are trying their best to get home, the police fails in detecting their whereabouts. When a very vague trace leads to Poland, the parents hit the road to find their children on their own.
