Tribunal de Saint Omer. La joven novelista Rama asiste al juicio de Laurence Coly, una joven acusada de matar a su hija de 15 meses al abandonarla a la subida de la marea en una playa del norte de Francia. Pero a medida que avanza el juicio, las palabras de la acusada y los testimonios de los testigos harán tambalear las convicciones de Rama y pondrán en duda el propio juicio.

Joëlle y Kamel Mrabti son dos miembros esenciales en el gabinete del nuevo alcalde de Montfermeil, Emmanuelle Joly. Sin embargo, son una pareja que se está divorciando. Una breve historia del siglo XX”, del escritor checo Patrik Ourednik, y usando imágenes de archivo, publicidades de época y recreaciones ficcionales, este documental propone un inquietante recorrido por los principales hitos socio-políticos, científicos y culturales del siglo pasado. Sin respetar un orden cronológico ni una jerarquía entre los eventos que describe, este excéntrico inventario incluye las guerras, los adelantos tecnológicos, los movimientos artísticos y los cambios filosóficos que transformaron a la humanidad.
