『赤めだか』（あかめだか）は、落語家・立川談春のエッセイである。物語は1984年に高校を中退、7代目（自称5代目）立川談志に入門してから、1997年の国立演芸場で開かれた第6回真打トライアル、そして真打昇進に至るまでの談春の苦難と葛藤を描く。2015年、TBSテレビでドラマ化された。嵐の二宮和也が談春役で主演。

The movie revolves around Mitsuba, who studies traditional art of rakugo. Rakugo is a form of comical story telling, sometimes referred to as sit-down comedy. Even though Mitsuba is mediocre at best, he ends up teaching three students.

東京の下町、師匠・出船亭志ん米の自宅に住み込み落語の修行に明け暮れる出船亭志ん田は、ある日かつて一門に在籍していた志ん魚を捜してほしいと師匠から頼まれる。志ん魚の消息を求めて師匠の弟弟子・志ん水や昔の門下生たちを訪ね回るが、手掛かりをつかめずにいた。やがて志ん米の娘・夕美も志ん魚捜しを手伝うことになり…。

二ツ目の落語家、志ん魚は二十三歳の誕生日、志ん米はじめ、仲間の援助で初めてソープランドに行った。志ん魚についたエリザベスは初々しい彼に興味を抱き、二人はその日からデートを重ねた。数日後、そんな志ん魚に、女子高の落研に所属する女の子たちがコーチを依頼に来る。志ん魚はその中の一人、由美に心を寄せる。純な志ん魚は由美のことをエリザベスに告白するがバレなければいいと気にしない。志ん魚は割りきれないまま、エリザベス、由美とデートを続ける。
