But when Red needs Lee's help, will either one live with Gillespie's choice?

When Amy moves from her beloved Hawaiian Islands to study drama on the mainland, she has little cause to rejoice as a gang of vicious co-eds plots to make her life a living hell. Kitty Reily (Patsy Kelly) and Lena Marchetti (Lyda Roberti) meet each other at an amateur Radio Show. Kitty quickly learns to greatly dislike incompetent Lena. They keep running into each other until Kitty resigns to being friends with Lena when they become hospital nurses and share a dorm room.

An Archeology Professor and antique collector, Laphin, goes trekking through a deep jungle to the Cambodian border to see an ancient palace with two guides. They see a crazy man who runs away when he sees them and drops a small wooden statue of monkey. They keep it. They travel on and come across a village whose inhabitants have all been violently killed by what seems to have been an animal. They leave the village and meet a starving man. They share their food with him and tell him about the statue and the village. He warns them that if they keep the statue which is of the legendary monkey monster named "Kong Koy" to cover it with a small holy cloth or face the "evil". He gives them the cloth and goes. They return home and the statue is stolen by one of the Professor's students, Joe. He removes the protective cloth and conjures up the monkey monster. When Joe, Laphin's daughter Yoyo (Rungnapa "Anny" Brooke, Sherry Ann) and all her friends have a graduation party the beast strikes.

This Universal programmer was based on a Collier's Magazine story by journalist Quentin Reynolds. This story in turn was ostensibly based on a true incident, in which a gangster "returned from the dead" to save an innocent young man from the electric chair. The nurse of the film's title is Katharine McDonald, who falls in love with her prizefighter-patient Lee Burke as he recovers from a beating received in a fixed prizefight. Katharine must fend off the advances of criminal attorney John Dodge, another patient who also loves her and becomes jealous of Lee. But when Lee is framed for the murder of his disgruntled manager, Slice, by a henchman of the fight-fix leader, Joe Largo, Dodge takes on his defense and works with Katherine to discover the real killer. Convicted and sentenced to death, Burke is about to walk the "last mile", as Katharine encourages mortally wounded Largo to a deathbed confession.
