映像製作会社社長・立花源也は、かつて一世を風靡した大女優・藤原千代子の半生を振り返るドキュメンタリー制作を依頼された。千代子の大ファンだった立花は若いカメラマンを引き連れ、30年前に人気絶頂の中、忽然と姿を消し、以来公の場に現われなかった千代子の屋敷へ向かった。ようやく姿を現した千代子は、歳は老いても昔の清純な印象を残していた。そして、戸惑いながらも自らの人生を語り始めた。それは、女優になる前、女学生の頃に恋した名も知らぬ男性を、生涯をかけて追い求める壮大なラブ・ストーリーだった。
