地球の探査にやって来て一人取り残された異星人と少年の交流を暖かく描き上げたSFファンタジー。森の中に静かに降り立つ異星の船から現れる宇宙人たち。だが彼らの地球植物の調査は人間たちの追跡によって中断される。宇宙船は急いで空に舞い上がるが一人の異星人が取り残されていた。森林にほど近い郊外に住む少年エリオットは裏庭でその異星人と遭遇、彼をかくまう事にする。兄と妹を巻き込んで、ETと名付けられたその異星人との交流が始まったが、ETの存在を知っているのはエリオットたちだけではなかった……。

南北戦争時代のアメリカ。北軍の士官として参軍したネイサン・オールグレン大尉は南軍やインディアンと戦いの中、無関係のインディアン部族を攻撃し、子供たちを撃ち、良心の呵責に悩まされ酒浸りになる。日本の実業家の大村はバグリー大佐を介し軍隊の教授職として雇いに来ていた。当時の日本は明治維新で近代国家建設のために急速な近代的軍備増強が必要だった。多額の報酬に魅せられたオールグレンは、僚友ガントとともに日本に渡り、軍隊訓練を指揮する。

マリファナ密売で儲けた大金をタンクに隠し、真のアメリカを求めてオートバイで放浪の旅に出る二人のヒッピーを描いたアメリカン・ニュー・シネマの代名詞的作品。元々は馬をバイクに乗り換えた現代の西部劇を目指して創られた作品だが、そこで描き出されたのはドラッグ・カルチャー、余所者への強烈な排他性、そして名ばかりの“自由”という現代のアメリカであった。

『ライフ・イズ・ビューティフル』（原題：La vita è bella、英題：Life Is Beautiful）は、1997年のイタリア映画。ロベルト・ベニーニ監督・脚本・主演作品。第二次世界大戦下のユダヤ人迫害（ホロコースト）を、ユダヤ系イタリア人の親子の視点から描いた作品である。 カンヌ国際映画祭で審査員グランプリを受賞。第71回米国アカデミー賞で作品賞ほか7部門にノミネートされ、そのうち、主演男優賞、作曲賞、外国語映画賞を受賞した。また、トロント国際映画祭の観客賞やセザール賞の外国映画賞も受賞している。

地球温暖化が進んで一部の海に近い土地が沈み、妊娠・出産に厳しい許可制度がしかれ、人間の代わりに多くの資源を必要としないロボットが活躍する未来。その時代に人間と同じ愛情を持つ少年型ロボットとして開発されたデイビッドは、彼を製作したロボット製造会社の社員、ヘンリーとその妻モニカの元へ試験的に送られる。夫妻には不治の病を持つ息子のマーティンが居たが、現在は冷凍保存で眠っていて目覚める保証はなく、実質的に子供がいないのと同じだった。

Luise, called Pünktchen, and Anton are closest of friends. Being the daughter of a wealthy surgeon, young Pünktchen lives in a great house.
