Jo has just come back to Japan for the funeral of his parents, who were killed in tribal warfare in Africa where the family had been living throughout most of Jo's life. Once the funeral was over, he missed the boat that was going to take him back home, and, because of an altered itinerary, he ends up stopping in a town for awhile -- striking up an acquaintance with a teenager and her grandfather when he captures their runaway horse. He would have been glad to leave after the proper amenities were completed, but the girl's journalist brother is murdered -- he was getting too close to wrapping a major news story. At that point, Jo and a friend cannot easily drop the matter as though nothing had occurred, and the two start to track down the source of the trouble -- a factory that makes poison gas for Third World buyers. Now their task is to dismantle the operation, prevent one train shipment from arriving at a transfer point, and find the journalist's killer.
Rennyo was the key figure responsible for the restoration of Shin Buddhism in Japan, in particular the Honganji lineage that had a slump in its fortunes during the Middle Ages. According to the legend, his motivation was a pivotal childhood incident at the age of six when his mother summoned him and told him about his destiny to revive the fortunes of the Honganji school to which he was the next in line. The local yakuza gangs dominating the port of Yokohama do not take well the invasion of their territory by a daring biker gang, led by a girl in black leather outfit and cowboy hat - reminiscent of the earlier war victors. Old and new grudges lead the two girl gangs to clash in several fights. However, when one of the leaders dies, the girls end up by uniting against the male gangsters that had been using them as puppets - and it all ends in a great finale mixed battle by the seashore.

苛酪な拷問や刑罰が行なわれていた徳川時代。一人の女が墓を掘り起し、男の腹を引裂いて鍵をつかみだした。「これで女に戻れる」と呟きながら、その女は数日前の出来ごとを思い浮べていた。両親に先立たれた由美は、残された借金返済のため、与力鮫島の口ききで大黒屋に奉公した。しかし、そこは刺青女がたむろする異様な売春宿だった。女主人のお竜は、異常な女で由美の体にひかれていた。そして、由美の肌に惚れこんで墨を入れる刺青師彫秀をねたみ、昼夜となく由美を愛撫した。ある日、縛られた由美が弦造に襲われ貞操を奪われた。しかし事はすぐ発覚、お竜は由美を独占するため、貞操帯をはめてしまった。それから、お竜の口ききで彫辰が墨を入れはじめた。やがて、将軍上覧の刺青競演会が開かれ、由美の肌で競いあった彫辰の“水門破り”と彫秀の“吉祥天女”は甲乙つけがたく引分けとなった。それからというもの各藩の重役たちが、大黒屋を訪れるようになった。由美が弦造の子を妊んだ事に気づいたのはそんな折、子供産みたさに貞操帯の鍵を呑みこんで殺れた弦造の墓を掘り起したのだった。しかし、由美はすぐさま捕われ、火責め刑に処せられた。刺青女の噂は異国人の間にもひろまり、墨を入れた女囚たちが続々と長崎へ送られた。鮫島が金儲けを企む領事と結託したのはそんな折だった。鮫島は江戸一の刺青師彫五郎を殺し、その罪を負わされた彫秀は島流しに処せられた。一方お竜は、生娘のお鈴に目をつけ、彫辰に墨を入れさせて、長崎へ送った。しかし、辱めを受けたお鈴は服毒、島破りをして長崎に来た彫秀に一部始終を話すと息をひきとった。復讐を誓った彫秀はクレイトンの娘を誘拐、無理やり墨を入れた。領事館で刺青競演会が開かれた時、彫秀作の“人間ハリ鼠が”登場して、場内は騒然となっこ。だが、その時会場に突然火の手が上り、彫秀に追いつめられたクレイトン、鮫島、彫辰たちは火に包まれた。そして、その場を逃れたお竜も追手に捕われ処刑された。

Every day a car accident happens in the city. The involved parties are prey to the settlement agents (jidanya), mediators between the parts and the insurance companies to avoid time-consuming legal actions that could come when no settlement is reached (while cheating both parties out of some piece of the settlement pay). Genkichi is a well versed old-timer, that sees how his freshly out of collage son struggles to fit into the business, while at the same time facing one of his lowest rivals in a car crash incident.

Takashi Fujiki stars as a rebel in this drama about life on the Yokohama waterfront by New Wave director Masahiro Shinoda. The rebel works as an errand boy for a shipping company and vents his frustrations by plucking on the guitar. His interpretations of popular trends in music are sometimes right-on, and sometimes not exactly. Bereft of his guitar, the rebel's modes of expression are not as effective in generating interest as the Yokohama docks themselves, a fascinating world in their own right.
