英国のとある養鶏場。強欲な女主人ミセス・トゥイーディーの支配下、ここのメンドリたちは囚人のような毎日を送っていた。仕事といえば卵を産むことだけで、産めなくなったら食用チキンにされる運命。そんな人生に疑問を感じたジンジャーは、真のニワトリ人生を求め、今日も脱走計画を練っていた。そんなある日、空からオンドリが降ってきて養鶏場に墜落。それを見たジンジャーは「空を飛ぶ練習をすればいいんだ！」と閃く。
