작곡가 콜 포터(케빈 클라인 분)와 린다(애슐리 주드 분)는 파리의 한 살롱에서 만나자 마자 사랑에 빠져 1년 후에 결혼한다. 미모와 재력을 겸비한 린다는 든든한 후원과 조언을 통해 그를 성공으로 이끈다. 또한 양성애자인 콜 포터가 남자들과 관계를 계속하고 있음을 알면서도, 두 사람의 진정한 사랑을 의심하지 않는다. 하지만 콜 포터는 광란의 파티와 아름다운 남자들에게 점점 더 빠져들어가고, 린다는 오래도록 간절히 원했던 아기를 가질 수 없게 된다. 이에 두 사람은 새 출발을 결심하고 할리우드로 생활의 터전을 옮긴다. 콜 포터는 뮤지컬 영화로 대대적인 성공을 거두지만, 다시 시작된 그의 방탕한 생활에 지친 린다는 혼자서 파리로 떠난다. 그러던 어느 날 아침, 승마를 하다가 말에서 떨어진 콜 포터는 치명적인 부상을 당하고, 두 다리를 절단해야 하는 상황에 처한다. 그들 돌보기 위해 파리에서 돌아온 린다는 다리 절단 수술을 거부한다. 피아노를 연주하며 음악을 만드는 그의 다리를 잘라내는 것은 인생의 의미를 앗아가는 사형선고와 다름 없다고 판단했기 때문. 이후 콜 포터는 고통 속에서도 창작활동을 계속하고, 드디어 ‘Kiss Me, Kate’라는 뮤지컬로 생애 가장 큰 성공을 거둔다. 하지만 불치의 병에 걸린 린다의 상태는 점점 악화되는데….

1860년 파리 오페라 하우스. 새로운 극단주 앙드레와 피르맹, 그리고 후원자인 라울 백작은 '한니발' 리허설을 감상하는 가운데 갑자기 무대장치가 무너지는 사고가 발생한다. 사람들은 오페라의 유령이 한 짓이라고 수근대고, 화가 난 프리마돈나 칼롯타는 무대를 떠나버린다. 발레단장인 마담 지리의 추천으로 크리스틴이 새로운 여주인공을 맡게 되고, 공연은 대성공을 거둔다. 크리스틴은 축하객들을 뒤로하고 대기실에 혼자 남게 되는데, 거울 뒤에서 반쪽 얼굴을 하얀 가면에 가린 채 연미복 차림의 팬텀이 나타나 마치 마법이라도 걸듯이 크리스틴을 이끌고 미로같이 얽힌 지하 세계로 사라진다. 크리스틴의 실종으로 오페라 하우스는 일대 혼란에 빠지고, 팬텀은 극단주에게 자신의 요구에 응하지 않을 시 크리스틴도 돌려보내지 않고 큰 재앙을 내리겠다고 경고한다. 그러나 기회를 주겠다며 크리스틴을 돌려보낸 팬텀과 달리 극단은 그의 협상을 모두 무시하고, 오페라 하우스는 괴사건에 휘말리며 문을 닫기에 이른다. 한편, 지하세계에 끌려갔다 온 후 크리스틴은 팬텀의 공포에 날마다 시달리고 크리스틴을 위로하던 라울은 그녀와 사랑을 맹세한다. 이들의 대화를 엿들은 팬텀은 사랑과 질투에 싸여 복수를 결심하는데… 과연, 오페라 하우스와 팬텀에게는 어떤 비밀이 숨겨진 것일까?

Chick Williams, a prohibition gangster, rejoins his mob soon after being released from prison. When a policeman is murdered during a robbery, he falls under suspicion. The gangster took Joan, a policeman's daughter, to the theater, sneaked out during the intermission to commit the crime, then used her to support his alibi. The detective squad employs its most sophisticated and barbaric techniques, including planting an undercover agent in the gang, to bring him to justice.

Insane Tuesday debuted in São Paulo in 2001. The project was dedicated to the study of Brazilian comedy, to the transformation of actors into authors of their own characters and texts, and to the promotion of original productions of contemporary adult humor.

The stories in Monkey Sandwich are urban myths or stories created with or by the actors. The film was originally part of a stage performance of the same name.

Show girl Jill Deverne is married to song writer Fred Deverne, and everyone is involved in the Broadway night life and endless parties. Jill is being pursued by a gangster, and she leaves her husband after he spends the night with a floozie. Jill ends up as the gangster's moll, but she soon gets tired of the lifestyle.

A stage-struck small-towner is tricked in backing a bad straight play, but it turns out to be a unintentional comedy hit. Problems arise, when he is sued for plagiarism.

Erik, the hypnotist Georg's assistant, is in love with Magda, Georg's fiancée, and secretly sends her roses every night. Chris, the guy delivering the flowers, who is also an amateur boxer down on his luck, takes advantage of the empty dressing room to steal the trio's bankroll, but he is caught by Georg, who is knocked out by Chris during a brief struggle.

Susan is about to be married, but the wedding may get called off after her fiancé summons three former beaus. Each reveals a different portrait of Susan: one describes her as a naive country girl who reluctantly becomes an actress, another paints a picture of a gay party girl and and the third describes a serious intellectual.

A country girl (Simone Berriau) finds work as a chorus girl in Paris, gets embroiled with a bad egg, and then finds true love with a good-looking milkman.
