Women of Steel (2022)

1972년 10월 13일 금요일 오후, 우루과이대학 럭비팀을 태운 항공기가 칠레로 상륙하기 직전 안데스산맥에서 추락한다. 높은 산맥들은 날개를 날려보내고 프로펠러는 객실안으로 비집고 들어오게 되고 마침내 꼬리부분은 떨어져 나가게 된다. 결국 비행기는 동체만 남아 미끄러져 예상치 못한 곳에 안식처를 잡게된다. 승객 몇은 그자리에서 죽고, 살아도 중상이기에 죽음을 기다릴 수 밖에 없는 상황이었다. 그중 난도 파라도(Nando Parrado: 에단 호크 분), 안토니오 발비(Antonio Balbi: 빈센트 스파노 분), 로베르토 카네사(Roberto Canessa: 조쉬 해밀톤 분)는 남은 생존을 돌보며 구조대를 기다린다. 그러나 구조의 기미는 보이지 않고 8일이 지난다. 그러자 남은 라디오 안테나를 최대한 이용하여 방송을 듣게 되나 소식은 수색작업을 포기했다는 절망적인 보도였는데...

첫 흑인 대통령으로 선발된 넬슨 만델라는 거의 백인으로 이뤄진 자국팀 ‘스프링복스’와 영국의 경기에서 흑인들이 상대팀 영국을 응원하는 것을 목격한다. 이에 인종과 국경을 초월하는 스포츠를 통해 모두의 마음을 하나로 연결할 것을 결심하고, ‘스프링복스’의 주장 프랑소와 피나르를 초대해 1년 뒤 자국에서 열리는 럭비 월드컵에서 우승해 달라고 제안한다. 그 누구도 믿지 않았고 불가능이라 여겨졌던 우승! 결코 굴하지 않았던 그들은 온 국민에게 기적 같은 경험을 선사하고 이 날의 경기는 흑과 백이 하나되는 역사적인 사건으로 기록되었다!

영국의 스타 럭비 선수였던 맥스(이드리스 엘바)는 보모와의 외도가 빌미가 되어 아내 에밀리(젬마 아터튼)와 별거 중이다. 가족에게 돌아가고 싶은 마음과 달리 술과 마약, 여자가 그의 발목을 잡는다. 가정에 전념해왔던 에밀리는 대학 시절 연인인 사진작가 제이크와 다시 만나면서 배우 복귀를 준비한다. 택시기사 조지(찰리 크리드 마일즈)와 캐시(키어스턴 워레잉) 부부는 간절히 원했던 입양이 실현되기 직전이다. 시인의 감성을 지닌 조무래기 흑인 마약상 킹슬리(프랜즈 드라메)는 조직에서 벗어나 새로운 인생을 찾고자 한다. 런던의 한 지역에서 흩어져 살지만 알게 모르게 얽혀 있는 이들에게 변화의 순간이 찾아온다. 폭력 전과 때문에 입양이 좌절된 조지는 끔찍한 교통사고를 내고 만다. 공동묘지에서 사회봉사 명령을 수행하다가 연극배우 테렌스(켄 스탓)와 인연을 맺은 킹슬리는 그의 주선으로 에밀리 앞에서 오디션을 본다. 그런데 최종 오디션 직전, 킹슬리는 테렌스의 갑작스런 사망 소식을 듣는다. 한편 성실한 가장으로 거듭 나려던 맥스는 에밀리를 오해하고 총기 소동을 일으키는데…

Katrien (Cherié van der Merwe) is dumped by her boyfriend, high school rugby star Werner (Altus Theart), so he can focus his energy on the sport. To get even, she makes a bet with her friends that she can make a star out of the school's dorkiest boy, 'Wimpie' Koekemoer (Ivan Botha), by pretending to be his girlfriend. The awkward Koekemoer rises to the challenge but Katrien finds herself falling unexpectedly in love with him, until he realizes she is merely using him.

Inspired by true events, the story begins with Japanese rugby officials dwelling on a humiliating anniversary, a 145-17 defeat by the New Zealand All Blacks in the 1995 World Cup. Officials question their decision to appoint Eddie Jones, to coach their national team for the 2015 World Cup. Jones plans to defy convention in order to put a stop to Japan being the laughing stock of world rugby.

Timothy Lea and his brother-in-law Sidney decide upon opening a driving school as their latest get-rich-quick scheme. Though he sincerely wants to teach, young Timmy finds that his female students are far more interested in keeping their eyes on him than on the road.

The determined new headmaster of an English prep school attempts to reform the frequently unruly students, who are tormented by a ruthless bully.

Alec Smart, who is engaged teaching in a prison, applies for the job of headmaster at a nearby public school to replace the previous headmaster who has been convicted of writing forged cheques and has just been sent to prison. Smart appeals to the Governor to write him a good reference which he pretends to. Afterwards he writes his real recommendation which is very negative about Smart's talents. The trustee who works as the Governor's secretary, Faker Brown, "accidentally" gets the two letters mixed up and delivers the one praising Smart. On the basis of the letter, Lady Dorking, the who runs the Board of Governors appoints Smart to the job. This angers her deputy, Colonel Crableigh, who had favoured promoting his nephew, the Deputy head.
