전세계 유일의 희귀 앵무새 ‘블루’는 미네소타 주의 작은 도시 무스 레이크에서 주인이자 가장 친한 친구인 린다와 안락한 삶을 즐기고 있다. 둘은 ‘블루’를 제외한 모든 마코 앵무새가 멸종했다고 생각하지만, 뜻밖에 지구상에 마지막 남은 단 한 마리의 암컷 마코 앵무새가 존재한다는 소식을 듣고, 짝짓기를 위해 멀리 브라질의 ‘리오 데 자네이로’로 향한다. 뜨거운 쌈바 축제의 열기로 가득한 ‘리오’는 그 동안의 생활과는 완전히 딴판인 야생 그 자체. 게다가 평온한 가정의 울타리 안에서 애완용으로 키워져 날지 못하던 새 ‘블루’와는 달리 독립적이고 활동적인 야생의 새 ‘쥬엘’은 종족만 같았지 물과 기름처럼 전혀 어울리지 못한다. 게다가 그의 짝 ‘쥬엘’은 지나치게 독립적이라 소심한 ‘블루’를 사사건건 비판, 좀처럼 둘 사이가 좁혀지지 않는다. 하지만, 예기치 못하게 동물 밀매업자들에게 납치를 당하게 된 ‘블루’와 ‘쥬엘’. 다행히 ‘블루’는 세상 물정에 밝은 ‘쥬엘’과 익살맞고 개성 강한 도시 새들의 도움을 받아 탈출에 성공하지만…

브라질 전역에 걸쳐 1백만명이 넘는 관객을 끌어들인 파울로 구스타보의 동명 연극을 영화한 작품으로, 2013년 자국 박스오피스에서 경이적인 흥행 성적과 더불어 비평가들의 호평을 받은 코미디 영화이다. 정년퇴직한 중년 여성인 에르미니아 부인의 가장 큰 걱정은 홀로 아이들을 돌보는 것이다. 하지만 이제는 훌쩍 자란 아이들이 자꾸만 부인과 대립하게 된다. 부인은 아이들과 말다툼 이후, 아이들과 잠시 떨어져 있기로 하고, 집을 나오기로 한다. 직장도 없고, 동반자도 없는 에르미니아 부인은 늙은 이모의 집으로 가 마음의 짐을 덜기로 한다. 이모의 집으로 온 에르미니아 부인의 마음은 점점 더 무거워진다. 아직도 그녀의 돌봄이 필요한 아이들을 떠나온 죄책감과 아이들에 대한 그리움이 밀려오는데...

A deep investigation, in the way of a poetic essay, on one of the main Latin American movements in cinema, analyzed via the thoughts of its main authors, who invented, in the early 1960s, a new way of making movies in Brazil, with a political attitude, always near to people's problems, that combined art and revolution.

The documentary Migliaccio - O Brasileiro em Cena follows the path of those who take risks for the art, either as directors, as writers, as scenographers and even as costume designers. The Oscarito trophy received by Flávio Migliaccio in 2014 Gramado Film Festival crowns a career enmeshed by many threads. Since Migliaccio has performed in different fields of art - from cinema and theater to literature and drawing -, the documentary creates varied visual interventions to enchain the narrative, in addition to the interviews and archive pictures, such as a shadow play to represent his humble childhood, and to the cartoons the artist drew to portray his existential questions in his ranch in Rio Bonito (State of Rio de Janeiro). Images and stories that aim to show a professional and personal life pervaded by possibilities and attitudes, both artistic and political.

Lisbela is a young woman who loves going to the movies. Leléu is a con man, going from town to town selling all sort of things and performing as master of ceremonies for some cheesy numbers, such as the woman who gets transformed into a gorilla. He gets involved with Linaura, a sexy and beautiful woman who happens to be the wife of the most frightening hitman of the place. The hitman finds out his wife's affair and goes after Leléu, who has to leave in a hurry. In another town, he meets and falls instantly in love with Lisbela, who is engaged to Douglas, a hillbilly who tries hard to pass for a cosmopolitan Rio de Janeiro dweller.

In 1946, in Soror city, three different stories intersect amid macabre events. While detectives Thomas and Carlos work in the unsolved cases of the mysterious body found in a tree and Serena Caires disappearance, those three stories get together suggesting the motivations of those respective crimes.

Through cinema, it is possible to recognize situations and think about them theoretically from other perspectives. Inspired by the discussion of the classic text by Mariza Peirano.
