Na'ama is seventeen. She lives in a sleepy suburbia. She is bored. With detached parents and a rebellious older sister, her life at home is a mess. It all changes when a new girl appears at school. She's introduced to a world of drugs, lesbians and sex. She's thrilled. Her life, at last, becomes exciting. Is it going to last? "Barash" is a coming of age story, planted in the heart of Israeli society, about a young woman who struggles to find her self-identity in an environment that has different ideas about sex, drugs and love.

로라 멀비와 피터 월렌은 1974년에 영국으로 돌아온 이후, 당시 번영 중이던 실험영화 환경 속에서 활발한 영화 문화와 국고 보조금 덕분에 영국영화협회 제작위원회의 지원으로 를 제작했다. 그들은 다시 한 번 고대 그리스 신화를 이야기의 출발점으로 잡았다: 지그문트 프로이트가 정신분석이론에 키 텍스트로 사용한 오이디푸스의 이야기가 그것이다. 이 영화는 대칭으로 구성되어 있다. 멀비의 장면 뒤에 짧은 시작과 끝나는 장면으로 이어지는데 첫 번째 장면에서는 그녀가 오이디푸스 신화의 문화적 역사적 의의를 조사하고 스핑크스는 '질문하는 목소리, 수수께끼를 내는 목소리'로서 영화 속에서 서술자의 역할을 할 것이라고 설명한다. 13분할로 나뉜 이 영화의 중심 부분은 루이즈의 이야기를 들려주고 있다. 루이즈는 남편과 헤어진 후 일과 육아 사이에서 균형을 잡으려 노력하고 있는 젊은 어머니이다. 영화가 주부와 어머니에서부터 권능감과 정체성을 가진 여성에 이르는 여정의 다양한 측면을 추적하기 위해 각 분할은정 고된 위치에서 360도 회전하는 파노라마 카메라 촬영으로 구성된다. In rural Japan, a mother and daughter attempt to reconnect after dealing with the loss of a loved one the previous year.

The story takes place in Haifa, Israel, in 1979, during three days before the Shabbat. A young woman trying to raise three children, work from home, and observe the strict Moroccan traditions of her family finds herself at constant odds with her husband and her brothers, who want her to stay married and leave behind the notions of being loved and free.

Mabel’s father, the country constable, is smitten with the mother of the boy Mabel imagines “her ideal”. The young couple’s romance is disrupted first by two rival “cut-ups” and then by misapprehension that a tramp is hiding in a closet at the mother’s home. In reality, the mother herself takes refuge in the closet to escape the constable’s attentions.
