Scratch-As-Catch-Can is a 1932 American short comedy film directed by Mark Sandrich. It was nominated for an Academy Award at the 5th Academy Awards for Best Short Subject (Comedy).
The magical tale of a mouse who sets foot on a woodland adventure in search of a nut. Encountering predators who all wish to eat him - Fox, Owl and Snake - the brave mouse creates a terrifying, imaginary monster to frighten them away. But what will the mouse do when he meets this frightful monster for real?
미야자키 하야오 감독이 스스로 만들고 내레이션까지 한 작품입니다. 작품 속에서 미야자키 하야오는 의인화된 돼지의 모습으로 나와 비행 기계들에 대해 설명을 합니다. 19세기 서양인이 상상하던 미래의 비행 기계가 유머러스하게 소개되며, 그 비행 기계들이 문명의 발전과 함께 발전해나가는 모습을 풍부한 상상력을 통해 그려놓았습니다. 이 작품에 등장하는 비행기계들의 묘사를 위해 사용된 기법은 "하울의 움직이는 성"에도 활용되었다고 합니다.
The remaining fragments of an early Ozu film. It is the simple story of two friends who live together in a poor tenement and who share about everything in life (food, hopes, work...). Everything goes well until they gallantly rescue a young (and pretty) woman injured in a road accident. Since the lady has nowhere to go, the two good-hearted friends invite her to their home. She soon becomes their housemaid and they soon begin to seek her favors. Alas, she falls for a young student she has met in the neighborhood, much to the two friends' dismay.

Rather than presenting a conventional historical perspective, the film is composed of short contemporary fictions about individuals, grounding them in emotional truths to which an audience can easily relate.

A man with arachnophobia buys a poisonous bird spider and sets it free in his apartment.
The Seed follows the events surrounding a homeless veteran named Ken Mercado, played by Will Yun Lee. Living along the banks of the Los Angeles River, he is attacked by masked men in black vehicles, invisible to the eye. To any passers-by, Mercado appears to have some sort of mental illness, but as he is chased throughout the city, it is revealed to the audience that he is not in fact paranoid, but rather the victim of a government conspiracy. Sung's adversaries are visible to him, yet only visible to the audience part of the time. At the end of the film, an alien ship is visible in the sky, watching the scene.
