150년의 유구한 역사를 자랑하는 미주리주의 블레인에서 성대한 축제를 계획한다. 아마추어들인 주민들이 모두 참여하여 마을의 오랜 역사를 되새겨 보면서 현재를 생각하고 미래를 계획하는 내용의 뮤지컬을 무대에 올리기로 한 것. 직접 각본을 쓰고 감독과 안무까지 책임지게 된 코키(Corky St. Clair: 크리스토퍼 게스트 분)에게는 이 뮤지컬이 일생일대 최대의 기획이다. 각양각색의 직업을 가진 이들이 레드, 화이트, 그리고 블레인이라는 제목의 쇼 오디션에 참여한다. 치과의사인 퍼얼 박사를 비롯 여행안내원인 론(Ron Albertson: 프레드 윌라드 분)과 쉴라(Sheila Albertson: 캐서린 오하라 분) 부부, 데일리 퀸인, 리비 매 브라운(Libby Mae Brown: 파커 포세이 분), 그리고 은퇴한 박제사까지. 이들은 스스로 재능과 끼를 완벽하게 갖추었다고 믿고있는 아마추어 배우들이다. 우여곡절 끝에 캐스팅을 완료하고 연습에 몰두하는 코키와 배우들. 그러나 이들의 작멈이 순탄치만은 않다. 우선 소요 비용에서부터 문제가 발생한다. 이리저리 돈 쓸 곳은 늘어만 가는데, 시장은 10만 달러의 비용을 청구한 서류를 요구하며, 시예산으로는 15,000 달러 이상이 불가능함을 통보해 온 것. 본인들의 생각과는 달리 형편없는 실력의 아마추어 배우들의 연기력도 코키를 힘빠지게 만든다. 그러나 브로드웨이의 전설적인 프로듀서 거프만을 초대해 쇼를 감상케 할 계획을 갖고있는 코키는 계속해서 배우들을 독려한다.

"All-Stars" is a hilarious commentary on the state of all youth sports today, fueled by the outrageous behavior of the desperate sports parent living vicariously through his or her child. In the vein of "Best in Show", where it's more about the dog owners than the dogs - "All-Stars" is about the adults involved in youth sports (parents, coaches, umpires, volunteers, board members, etc.) more than the kids. The end result is a funny, yet compelling spin on fast pitch softball as well as a unique state of affairs on the outlandish antics of a few crazed parents.

Only when he meets his uncle Walter, whom he didn't know about before and establishes an ambiguous friendship with, and also faces his neighbour Victor’s destiny, he discovers with full force how cruel the daily battle for survival can be.
On December 20, 2012, the eve of what may be the end of the world, Stacey decides he wants to see his ex-girlfriend, Parker. Though not entirely convinced of impending doom, Stacey convinces Parker to embrace the notion that this might be the end, and she agrees to spend the day with him, making sure to fit as much into these final moments as possible.
