영화는 자살 시도가 취미인 우울한 부잣집 도령 해롤드와 남의 차를 몰고다니면서 과속하는게 취미인 할머니 모드의 교감에 대한 이야기다. 여기서 포인트는 부잣집 도령님 해롤드에 있다. 소년이 다른 사람을 통해 성장하는걸 줄거리로 봐야할테니까. 이렇게 보면 다른 성장영화와 별로 다르지도 않건만 이 영화는 그보단 과격하다. 예쁘장한 부잣집 아들래미가 자살 시도를 말그대로 취미삼아 한다는 것부터가 심상치 않다. 하지만 그보다 사람들을 놀라게한건 소년에 가까운 젊은 남자와 80세 생일을 며칠 남겨둔 할머니가 연애 같은걸 한다는 줄거리다. 휴 헤프너의 경우처럼 할아버지와 젊은 여자의 로맨스(?)는 보기 어렵지 않지만, 할머니와 청년 커플은 흔하지 않으니까 전복적인 관계인건 사실이다. 그러나 해롤드와 모드는 엄청난 나이차를 잊게할만큼 죽이 잘 맞는다. 비슷한 연상연하 커플인 스타워즈 프리퀄의 파드메와 아나킨처럼 억지로 연애를 하는 것처럼 보이지도 않는다. '해롤드는 모드를 사랑해'에 화답해 '모드도 해롤드를 사랑해'라고하는 고백 장면에서는 어떤 강요된 느낌도 없다. 그저 '우리 서로 사랑하게 해주세요' 이상도 이하도 아닌 평범한 커플일 뿐. 여기서 이 영화의 블랙 코미디가 시작한다. 사람들의 일반적인 기대치를 벗어나도 한참 벗어나는 관계를 시치미 딱 떼고 평범함과 사랑스러움으로 포장했으니...

Maradonna messes up his life by getting into company of friends and starting an internet café that fails and to recoup his losses and attracted by ‘easy money’ he gets into drugs. Soon he is conned and loses everything after pledging his house to a ‘blade’ moneylender (Salim Kumar).

Chef Nandagopal (Mohanlal), while publicly known as the chef of the popular Nandu's Food Court, is also 'Lokpal' (Peoples' Protector), who fights corruption. The film does a flashback to Nandagopal's backstory which involves "attempted murder, a juvenile home and unrequited love

Jagannathan, a political advisor, is hired to help John, a politician in California. He employs various shrewd tactics to help John's party win the elections.

Mohanlal plays the role of OMR, an affluent NRI who does oil business in Singapore. The movie begins on a new year before when the "Red Chilles", an all-girls music band with nine members, are involved in an accident. The girls flee from the place to leave their car behind. Moreover, the girls work for OMR and it was his car they drove around. OMR is forced to come down to India. As a mystery, several other characters come into light, including a party secretary portrayed by Thilakan and four policemen played by Siddique, Vijayaraghavan, Biju Menon and Ganesh Kumar.

The film revolves around Alexander Varma, who survives with his IQ, but fate has something else stored for him.

Two brothers – Michel Rajamma (Kunchacko Boban) known as Rajamma and Vishnu Yohannan (Asif Ali) known as Yahoo. Three engineering students whose life takes a twist after meeting a mysterious man who teaches them the real meaning of life.

Goutham is a young businessman who lives with his mother and grandmother. Goutham's mother Vasundara Devi is the head of their family business. Vasundara Devi is a strict mother; but grand motheris extremely friendly with Goutham. Apporva is Goutham's best pal. Then enters Nithya, a sand animation artist. Goutham meets Nithya and after a series of incidents, the couple falls in love. But Nithya, who has a memory loss problem due to a major accident,can't remember anything more than a day. This problem creates obstacles in Goutham and Nithya's relationship and this forms the crux of the story.

The film opens with a ‘Manthravadi’ (Thilakan) an evil magician (Pithamagan Mahadevan) to obey to his commands and make spiriting away a friendly ghost money through crime. Meanwhile a group of kids and their benefactors are held hostage in a circus camp by the baddies, who has taken over the show. Ancy (Kaavyamadavan) is coming back from London, to take charge of the circus company founded by her father Philipose (Janardhanan),who was found murdered. On reaching there, she is told that her father was stabbed to death by a bike-jumper named Jimmy (Mammootty). In fact Jimmy, his foster father Krishnan (Innocent), aide Sisupalan (Suraj Venjarammood) and a gang of street children were all invited by Philipose to join his circus group. Meanwhile the ghost (Mammootty, in his other role) appears, becomes friendly with the kids and takes a more stylish shape of Jimmy. Thanks to the ghost, Ancy realizes that Jimmy was innocent in the whole issue. Now the battle between the good and evil.

Oru Naal Varum is a cat and mouse game where the life of a corrupt government official takes some intriguing topsy-turvy turns. With the magical combo of Mohanlal and Sreenivasan in action, there are times when the movie reminds us of some of their glorious years together, on screen

Jeevan (Anoop Menon) is a still photographer by profession, who runs his studio in a village near to Idduki. One day, he accidentally meets a girl, Sarah (Bhavana), who is from a well respected family, and they fall in love. Things started to become worse when they start their new life in Mumbai; the clash of their egos is the main focus of the movie.

Madhavan Nair has over the years, finally managed to start leading a comfortable life in Abudhabi, when Meenakshi drops into his life from heaven. Love strikes, and in no time breaks, and a disheartened Nair finds himself lost in the desert along with Abdu, who spells disaster. The duo runs into Eliana , who has been kidnapped, and together they devise a new plan to mint some easy money.

A group of fugitives end up killing an international businessman Casanovva's girlfriend, after entrapping the couple in a reality show. Furious, Casanovva sets out to avenge her death.

In a village named Ilavattam there lives a man by the name of Gopalakrishna Pillai. He is a man with diverse qualities. Basically he is a moneylender, but not the avaricious kind. He lends money at very low interest-rates but makes it a point to get his money back on the date agreed upon. The story takes a turn when a bank, named Grand Bank opens up in the village, offering to give out loans at very low interest. The manager of the bank is a young lady named Jayalakshmi. She has made her entry into the village with a very definite purpose. All this, plus the very different kind of bonding between Gopalakrishna Pillai and his mother, form the plot, which develops towards a very interesting climax.
