Since young, Shi Tian Cai (Li Nanxing) was known among his peers to be the junior gambling king thanks to his gambling addict of a father. Years later, Tian Cai gets married to Zhi Hui who is about to give birth. All this while Tian Cai have been supporting his family through gambling, but with a kid now on board, things just got tougher. Without hesitation Tian Cai dabbles with the high-stake circles and with his talent and reputation manages to make a huge windfall. Tian Cai's much sought after talent in the gambling circle generates envy from Taiwanese tycoon Li Guan Jun, and each step that Tian Cai takes brings him closer to his nemesis.

An all-black horror comedy starring Mantan Moreland and sometimes partner (and straight man) F.E. Miller, Lucky Ghost is amusing low-brow fare that exploits the more base, stereotypical elements of old-time black life (chicken thievin', gamblin', runnin' from ghosteses) for laughs -- sort of like the BET of its day. Mantan and Miller win a house-cum-casino in a craps game, only to discover that the deceased former owners aren't too pleased that their old home is being used for "jitterbugging, jiving, and hullaballooing". I hate hullaballooing. The ghosts decide to scare everyone off by opening doors and windows, pulling out chairs, even playing the drums.

도박계의 왕과 신이 도박계를 떠난 뒤, 도박사들은 새로운 전세계 도박 대회를 준비한다. 대회가 시작되기 얼마전부터 세계적인 도박사들이 하나, 둘 살해되어간다. 누군가가 서로 우승을 차지하려는 야심때문에 실력있는 도박사들을 해치우는 것이다. 루이는 마카오의 도박사로 역시 도박계를 석권하겠다는 야망에 차서 피나는 훈련을 쌓는다. 한편, 흥행사 탯은 도박왕이 사라진 뒤, 왕권을 전수할 사람을 찾으러 중국본토로 들어간다. 거기서 인간의 마음을 읽을 수 있는 초능력을 지닌 고트를 만난 탯은 그를 홍콩으로 데려와 갖가지 도박 기술을 가르치고, 마침내, 첫번째 도박대회에서 우승하기에 이른다. 그러나 범죄조직에서 살인하려던 아름다운 여인을 만나게된 고튼은 조직이 루이까지도 죽이려한다는 사실을 알게된다. 고트는 그녀 뿐아니라 루이와 칭이라는 사람을 위험에서 구해준다. 하지만 루이는 고트가 독심술을 통해 도박계를 제패하려 한다는 사실을 알고는 그를 죽이려는 음모를 꾸민다. 전세계 도박대회에서 고트와 루이는 승승장구하여 결승까지 진출한다. 결승전 전날 밤. 루이는 고트를 암살하기 전에 킬러를 보낸다. 칭의 도움으로 죽음은 모면하지만 두 사람은 범죄조직에 의해 감금당하고 결승전의 시간은 다가오는데... 홍콩 원 제목은 으로, 국내에서는 으로 소개되었다.

봉수는 순박한 농사꾼이다. 하지만 아무리 농사를 열심히 지어도 상황은 나아질 줄 모르고, 돈이 없어 딸 순이의 혼인까지 미루고 있다. 군대를 제대하고 마을로 돌아온 아들 영호는 옥경이와 사랑하는 사이이다. 옥경은 봉수의 집에서 자라서, 억조의 부인 술집에서 장사를 돕고 있다. 가난에 지친 봉수는 사채꾼 억조의 꾀임에 넘어가, 돈을 벌고자 소를 팔아 구제품 장사에 뛰어들지만, 서울에서 만난 사기꾼 일당에게 돈을 털리고 만다. 어느 밤 봉수는 억조가 옥경을 강간하려는 와중에 흘린 돈을 주워 가지려고 하다가, 억조와 싸움을 벌이게 되고 얼떨결에 그를 죽이고 만다. 옥경은 억조의 돈을 주워 일부를 영호에게 주고, 둘은 서울로 떠나려 한다. 하지만 억조 살해사건을 조사하는 경찰에게 붙들려 조사를 받고, 경찰들은 옥경과 영호가 살인범임을 확신하고 기차에 태워 본서로 압송한다. 봉수는 떠나는 기차를 쫓아가며 자신을 잡아가라고 외친다.
