In a groundbreaking project developed by MISCELLANEOUS Productions, a group of multi-barriered youth collaborated with a team of professional artists on POWER, an evening of solo performance pieces, ensemble drumming and dance numbers, all of which take a raw, honest look at the things that matter to youth in the community: power, racism, immigration, poverty, violence, sexism, addiction and love, presented at Vancouver’s Rhizome Café. This documentary focuses on four young artists -- Roberto, Natasha, Dakota, and Michael -- showing their struggles and their transformation through performance.

메인 주의 캐슬락에 뉴잉글런드 출신의 노신사 릴랜드 건트(Leland Gaunt: 막스 본 시도우 분)가 '욕망을 파는 집'이라는 이름의 가게를 연다. 모두들 이곳에서 자신이 가장 원하던 것을 구한다. 11살짜리 꼬마 브라이언(Brian Rusk: 쉐인 메이어 분)은 야구선수의 그림이 그려진 카드를 모으는데 정신이 팔려있다. 중년의 휴(Hugh Priest: 듀칸 플레이저 분)는 고교시절 운동선수의 재킷을 받고 젊은 시절을 회상하고, 정서불안인 폴리(Polly Chalmers: 보니 베델리아 분)는 이집트 목걸이로 자신을 치유한다. 물건을 파는 가게가 아닌 욕망의 추억으로 자신들의 현재를 위안하는 사람들은 겉보기엔 아무런 대가도 치루지 않는다. 돈한푼 쓰지않고 마약보다 진한 전율을 느끼는 사람들. 동네사람 모두 '욕망을 파는 집'에 관심이 팔려있지만 알란 팬본 경사(Sheriff Alan Pangborn: 에드 해리스 분)만은 경계를 늦추지 않는다. 팬본이 사랑하는 여자 폴리 역시 건트의 가게에 푹 빠져있다. 모두 행복에 젖어 있던 것은 한순간, 그 추억의 대가인지 마을에서는 불가사의한 일이 자꾸만 벌어진다. 사랑하는 개가 죽고, 브라이언은 악몽에 시달린다. 마을의 재정은 순식간에 도박판에서 날아가고. 그러나 이것은 시작에 불과했다. 끊임없이 밀려드는 악운과 제앙. 팬본 경사만이 외롭게 전체를 알 수 없는 재앙의 근원과 맞서는데.
